Jon Bon Jovi Appointed to White House Council

This is amazingly impressive. President Barack Obama has appointed Jon Bon Jovi to the Council on Community Solutions. According to the official statement, “The Council will provide advice to the President on the best ways to mobilize citizens, nonprofits, businesses and government to work more effectively together to solve specific community needs.”

Jon was one of dozens of people selected to work on the Council. He was selected for his work with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a charity that provides affordable housing solutions to families in need.

The Council for Community Solutions has three key functions:

- Enlist leaders in non-profit, private, and philanthropic sectors
- Provide strategic input and recommendations to federal government promote greater innovation    and cross-sector collaboration
- Honor and highlight those making an impact in their own communities

I guess this has been a pretty good month for Jon Bon Jovi. While Bon Jovi didn't make it into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame (yet), the band was named Top Touring Act of 2010 This means Bon Jovi made more money on the road than any other act. Yes, The Circle tour was a big success! The tour grossed $146.5 million over the past 12 months. Who said Glam was dead?!
