2011 Predictions

None of us can predict the future but it is fun to guess what tomorrow holds. It's especially fun to think up what will happen in the world of music in 2011. Here are my top five predictions for music next year:

1. Concert ticket prices will fall slightly but the cost of merchandise will soar higher.

2. M3 rock festival will expand to two days.

3. A random Glam band will reunite and rock us all. Autograph anyone?

4. The new SIXX:AM album will be amazing but the music press and other hipsters will completely ignore the record.

5. Whitesnake will play Rocklahoma, but the rest of the fest will be programmed modern.

Bonus: Steven Tyler will be awesome on Ameican Idol and we'll all be shocked.

So, what are your predictions for music in 2011?

M3 2 days ihope that prediction comes true. We look forward to it all year and boom 1 day and done.I have been to 2 rocklahomas and south texas rockfest and the exciting part having another day to chill and listen to great music with my peeps. I have met so many great people that I still keep in touch with. I know alot of people prefer 1 and done because of work and child care issues and I have the same issues but I will do whatever is necessary to keep the party going for an extra day of metal!

Allyson might give Hinder's new album a try instead of a biased taste of such a great album and maybe she might just like it!

M3 expanding to 2 days would be a major fail! Havn't you see what happened to all the other 80's rock festivals that try to do 2-3 day events...they all fail! Have a great lineup for one day = successs! Why screw that up!?

LOL 5 - pigs will fly

All the VH songs on the best ofs etc have blown, any album will be no different, I am afraid.

I hope VR dies and Slash keeps his 'solo' band going. I know Alter Bridge is in the way of that, but I can dream.

You liked Sixx AM? You must have been the only one. The singer should be sued for copyright infringement since he was a dead ringer for the guy from She Wants Revenge.
ROK will have a 25% decline from last year and the organizers will openly talk about canceling further shows. My big prediction is that a gang of metalheads will see that putz that is hosting headbangers Ball nowadays and hold him down and shave off his faux hawk.

M3 is going to be 2 days... or at least a day and a half. There will be bands Friday night... and all day Saturday. Done Deal...! Icon anyone..?

I think M3 becoming a 2 day event would be a bad thing. I like the one day event because I drive from PA see the show and drive home. I don't have the extra cash to spend on hotels and meals. It's perfect the way it is..... besides when you start stretching it into days the acts get less cool because you run the risk of getting more obscure bands with less of a following.

Im looking forward to the new SIXX:AM album. The last one blew me away. ALso sounding like someone else when you sing isnt copyright, its not his fault he sounds the same as someone else >_> Predictions

1)The rumored Def Leppard/Heart/Kansas tour will be in the top 10 of highest grossing but still will be passed up by myself and Ive seen Leppard the past 2 times in Indy, not a Heart or Kansas fan,
2)Stryper will release The Covering, tour the US and then go back into the studio in Mid 2011 to record a brand new album
3)Im going out on a limb but, Poison maybe actually record some new stuff
4)Whitesnake's new album will kick some major rear
5)Mr. Big actually plays Indiana or Kentucky so I can go see those geniuses.
