Rocklahoma Roll Call 2010

I have a crazy busy week ahead of me and it all ends Friday when I leave for Rocklahoma. This will be my fourth year in a row attending and covering the event. As you all know by now, the fest moved away from 100% Glam to more modern. I'm excited and interested to see how the changes are perceived during the fest. With that, who's with me? Drop me a note if you're attending Rocklahoma. I'd love to hang out.

Meanwhile, I'm starting a new job today and also trying to write the Rock on the Range review and edits tons of photos. Come back soon for the updates!

Very curious to see what kind of crowd attends ROK this year. I expect mainly local, mainly younger, probably a bit rowdier than in the past.
The weather looks as ominous as it has been the past 3 years, so I hope this is not 3 days of painfully waiting around to finally enjoy Cinderella, ZZ Top and TESLA. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised at some point.
I've seen most of the modern main-stage bands in the past month [or in the past 2 days at Rock On The Range] so I am not desperate to see them again so soon, but they are mostly good.
I don't know a single band on the 3rd stage, so I won't need to choose between 2nd and 3rd stage.
I think my best hope is that the Hard Rock stage bands show me something I am not expecting.
As Jay-Z reminds us in his awful remix of Forever Young, I will be "hoping for the best, but expecting the worst".

Mewizmagic (C-bus), myself (pitt), two from Jersey and one from Eastern Pa are attending. I expect younger, bigger crowd then last year. Wish the mix of new and 80s was more even. With that, I am looking forward to Last Vegas and 3DG. We'll be in EV 31 camping with vodka.

I'm hearing crickets on this one.....but for those few of you attending, hope you have a fun time. I'm very curious to see how this year compares to the past three years. CINDER AND TESLA WILL BE GREAT! OH, try and check out the GLITTER BOYS if you can. Fun band from Hattiesburg, MS. THey'll be keeping the glam alive this year!

Hate to say it but i see total repeat of last years horrible attendance...this festival is just to far out in the boonies to just be a "Modern" Festival with ok bands...there has to be some type of draw to it. That is why festivals like M3 or RNA will have 3-4 times the attendance!

Thursday lineup looks good, switch Fri (except Buckcherry) and Sun and I'm out of there a day early. As stated before, looking forward to Cinderella, ZZ, Last Vegas, Glitter Boys, but don't have any interest in Godsmack and many of the other soundalikes. At least the casino is not that far away. Taking NirVana's approach, and can have fun anywhere - just disappointed in the lineup especially when the festival I would have liked to have gone to is being held in OK City or Baltimore. I feel Rocklahoma duped many followers and early ticket renewers the last two years and have no intention of renewing next year at this festival without comparing the options.

Not goin'. Wish I was. Think ZZ Top is gonna be the sleeper -- shouldn't they be debuting new stuff from their forthcoming (where is it?) Rick Rubin produced magnum opus?
