'When We Were Beautiful'
Happy Mother's Day!
Bon Jovi released a new video for their song "When We Were Beautiful" awhile back. I love the clip because it's in black and white and honestly does reflect back to old clips of the band. Long haired Jon even!
When We Were Beautiful is a rock doc celebrating the band's 25th anniversary. The video "When We Were Beautiful" has a lot of live shots - can you find yourself? I'd love to spontaneously be in a music video. I don't own the DVD but it looks pretty cool. I'm gutted I don't get to see Jovi live this summer as originally planned. Of course Rock n' America had to be the same weekend!
"When We Were Beautiful" is featured on The Circle as well.

Have a Happy Heavy Metal Mother's Day, All!
As for being in videos, I have a small, blink of an eye clip in Sammy's MAS TEQUILA video and a nice shot in his documentary, Long Road to Cabo so I guess that's my little claim to fame (unless you also count the clip in one of the episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, 1st season). WE'll see where I end up next (ha ha).
I had a feeling you were famous!
Here's one to go in "The Story of My Life" category. I was almost in a video clip that was just beaten to death on Headbanger's Ball and another segment called "MTV Bootleg" beginning back in June of 1990 thru 'til around sometime in '92, or so.
Just think you could have seen Metalboy! in all his Robert Plant haired glory ("In Through The Out Door" period style) in the throng watching The Black Crowes at the Cat Club in NYC on May 26th, 1990. I know this, because it was my birthday!
My friends Charlie and Randy were in it, tho. Guess where I was? Buying drinks for them back at the bar because I really wasn't that interested in the Crowes as they were opening for one of my fave bands in the world, Junkyard!
Go figure, The Black Crowes go multi-platinum and Junkyard go ... well, hell, they're still goin', man! Catch 'em this Friday, May 14th, in Tarzana, California at Palamino's! And with original guitarist, Brian Baker, to boot!
Man, I wish I had the bread to catch that as no other shows are presently scheduled!
I'll never forget during that Cat Club gig, David Roach, Junkyard's lead singer, sipping his Bud, casually reclining on the drum riser, watching the D.C. punks who knew Baker from his stints in seminal D.C. straight-edge 80's Post-Punk bands, Dag Nasty and Minor Threat, swan diving off the stage to the strains of their encore, "Blooze", one of Junkyard's best songs delivered in their inimitable breakneck Ramones meets ZZ Top meets G'n'R style ...
Mildly amused by the ensuing frenzied mayhem before him, a deadpan Roach remarked, "Yep, just good people havin' a good time."
"Blooze" sounds more like the Ramones meets ZZ Top meets Motley Crue, not G'n'R!
Now you wanna go see 'em, right?!
