Dirty Penny Added to Rock n' America

Heck yes! Dirty Penny was just added to the ever-growing Rock n' America bill. The announcement was made on the festival's Facebook page accompanied with the promise of "even more bands." (The Myspace page of the band Axe also lists Rock 'n America although they haven't been officially announced yet).

Rock n' America is scheduled for July 23-25 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Three-day passes and VIP tickets are still available. There's also an official hotel package.

The last time I counted, around 27 bands had been announced for the festival including RATT, the Scorpions, Cinderella and Twisted Sister. The festival website promises 30 bands, so I'd assume the bill is nearly complete...as it should be. After all, the event is next month! (Where does the time go?!)

I think Dirty Penny is a great addition - they bring in the younger element of Glam to the event. There will be multiple stages and right now, no band splits have been announced.

Here's a performance and interview I found online featuring Dirty Penny.

Whoa, man, this is THE icing on the cake. I might have to come up with the bux to go now. Gotta figure out logistics. This really rounds it out way beyond my expectations. Tho -- and don't get me wrong -- I love all the "legacy acts" (that term just crax me up, kidz, being one myself, hahaha!!!), this is what I wanted to see more of in the line-up and theez boyz are some of my absolute faves of the Nu Metal, as I like to call it (and that does not include any and all of that Noize of New Dirge Metal some of you closet Hardcore Headbangers who occasionally come on here actually like more than Glam! You know who you are!)

Holy F*ucking Sh*t! This group's idol's were Poison and Motley Crue?!?!?! The Sh*t songs I just heard on that video were a slap in the face to both of those bands. These losers are going nowhere. They might have got away with that sound and look back around 1987/1988 but not now. It is time they find a job at Walmart and call it it quits.

Dirty Penny are far and away one of my favorite "new" bands out there. Great bunch of guys to work with...and their tour manager, hahahahahaha just get him some Jager and cancel your next day's appointment calendar. Fun as hell!

If I had the cash, I'd be on my way to Oklahoma now! I love Dirty Penny! I agree completely with Lou - they are great and so is their tour manager. They've all been so great to me every time I've seen them. They're actually pretty sweet boys.

What the h*ll, Billy? If you're such a bad a*s then just who IYHO are your fave bands?

Theez boyz kick royal a*s as far as I'm concerned and obviously otherz here agree.

I for one, like Sweet Lou, am happy to see a band of kidz like theez boyz who are onto what REAL Rock'n'Roll is, unlike yourself, obviously!

The whole retro trip is part of it, man, because, unlike you, theez catz realize this is the kind of Rock and Roll to be playin'.

Maybe you're one of theez clownz who comes on here when they should be on Blabbermouth or one of those 90's Generic Metal sites...

I suppose what's cool for you is boring, humorless sh*t!

Prove me wrong, boy...

Name new bands out there that you like and we'll see what your M.O. is...

I happen to think you are 1) a frickin' contrarian for the sheer hell of it or 2) clueless as to what the deal is when it comes to Glam Metal.

My favorites? Hmmmmmm....Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax. Yes......I will be at one of the sacred grounds in Europe that they will be all playing together. Other bands? Poison and Motley Crue. This band is a joke and should not even mention their names when describing themselves. Like I said, their future involves working at Walmart. They are 20 plus years to late to make money pretending to be the next Poison or Motley Crue. Agreed?
