Bon Jovi - 'What Do You Got?'

Have you heard the new Bon Jovi song "What Do You Got?" The song will be included on Bon Jovi Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection. The album will hit stores November 9. In total, Bon Jovi will include four new tracks among their most famous tunes.

Now, I'll be honest. I don't really like "What Do You Got?" It is too country for my taste and the guitar solo is basically non-existent, but hey, maybe you disagree. Push play, give it a go and provide your thoughts in the comments section. I wish Bon Jovi would record some new, harder edge songs. I feel like it's all too "Top 40 radio" these days.

I agree 100%. They're new stuff always makes me long for the old stuff. *sigh* They're still incredible live, for that they get a pass. ;)

This a great mid tempo ballad. I'm not a huge Bon Jovi fan but this is a well written song with a great hook, a key change and a nice laid back slide solo. It's not too much or overbearing. I personally feel it's the best Bon Jovi song I've heard since the late 80's. What everyone is looking for from Bon Jovi is an 80's type rock song with great hooks, a huge chorus and a screamin guitar solo. That I also haven't heard from Bon Jovi since the late 80's. This song gives me hope that they still remembered how to write a good song.

Beginning guitar is a rip off of Slash's "Starlight". This sucks. When the hair got cut the songs did become worse. Hmmm???

This song will be a giant hit for the NJ boys. Jon's voice, the lyrics, the band really wrote an excellent song. I like it a lot.

Bon Jovi are great songwriters, but they have become more of an adult contemporary band than a rock band. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but definitely not for me anymore. I lost interest after New Jersey.

Jon is an amazing song writer. I love so many songs I can't keep track.

I would've liked a harder rock song (like "It's My Life" or "Have A Nice Day") for a single but this is actually a pretty good tune. I've had the chorus in my head since the first time I listened to it. Jon sounds good and not nearly as whiny as he has the past few years. The only disappointment is the lack of a soaring guitar solo from Richie. This song would've been taken to the next level with heavier guitar & a longer solo.

I found the last album really mellow. Hardly ever listen to it. I love them but it's getting to be an effort to listen to the new stuff. Would rather listen to new Kiss, Ozzy, Iron Maiden or Europe. That stuff still rocks.

If it weren't for Desmond Child, none of us would barely have heard of these guys.

With the exception of the three songs he gave 'em, they fail to ROCK!

Just read the article on Sleaze Roxx that "Say No to Bon Jovi" posted the link for above.

Go figure. I believe every word.

Joel Ellis, former lead singer of Cats In Boots and Heavy Bones, two killer and REAL Glam Metal bands, is a true and REAL rocker unlike the poseurs so many of you blindly adore.

Wake Up, People! Stop being SHEEP!

There is so much REAL Rock'n'Roll out there, old and new, known and unknown, almost huge and huge, who are so much better than the ones you have allowed yourself to become so brainwashed by.

It's time to let it all go in pursuit or what's really better based on the way it sounds, not on whether it's pre-approved by decades of record company and radio hype.

Aren't you guys fried out on Bon Anchovy by now, anyway? I was done with them as soon as "Slippery When Wet" was thoroughly flogged on MTV and FM Radio.

And it just figures these guys are thieves. If you can't see it, you'll never know (apologies to Louis Armstrong).

There are so many other better bands to talk about it seems like you guys have never heard of...

Bands don't have to be platinum to be better than the names you all have been brainwashed to say you love just to "fit in".

Wake Up!

K.K. Wilde, Jillson, Cream House, Lorraine, Kidd Wikkid, Evenrude, Theatre, Baltimoore, Sic Vikki, Mr. Perfect, Sweet Lips, Babe Blu, Mr. Scary, Emergency, Treat, Alien, Cold Sweat, Roughhouse, Boysvoice, Kinki Stunt, Sweet Cheater, Fashion Police, Electric Angels, Wired, Sleaze Beez, Hot Boy, Lancia, Mr. Meana, Roulette, Fingerprints, Melidian, Shy, Tin Drum, Vice, Bai Bang, Lion, Zambelis, and, of course, Cats In Boots, etc., etc., just to name a few, are all killerz that blow Bon Jovi right off the stage by comparison!

Hell, even that kid Bon Jovi knock off band Hansel from Australia (thanks for Hansel, Al) can do Bon Jovi better than Bon Jovi. Check their video for "Murder 101" to hear the song Johnny Boy can only wish was his.

Snap out of it!

It's time to ROCK!

I like this song. And some say they havent had anything good since Bounce> People Have a Nice day was an amazing record, then you have Lost Highway that was awful then this new one, its more rock but most of the songs sound the same. I want to hear the other 3 songs they wrote and see if its good. I think this has a tinge of the 80s but mixed with the present day

For a start, the music is a rip off of U2's "One". Then we've got the same lyrical content that they go over again and again. Did these guys go to school because their grammar is terrible. Maybe someone should tell JBJ it should be "What HAVE you got". Poor.
