Jade - 'I'm Not Yours'

If you want obscure Glam, here you go: Jade. I know nothing about this band except they formed in the early 80s in Canada. I have to admit really enjoying the tune “I'm Not Yours” – in fact, Jade sounds way better to me than, say, Vixen.

I was able to dig up Jade's Myspace...the page bio has some interesting facts. Jade was involved with Roadrunner Records even. Go to the Myspace, check out the bio and listen to some tunes.

Is it obscure, or a lost gem? To me, there's a distinction.

This is a lost gem. For me, "obscure" can be construed negatively.

I can't find anything negative about this, unless you are "jaded" and prone to making fun of dated 80's look and sound, which I happen to think is more hip than hipsters.

Need proof? Look at all the trendies, hipsters and club kids on Lastnightsparty.com. You'll swear some of them came right out of this video. Well, the hair isn't quite as blown out. Some of the chicks go for it, though. The guys go with the more subdued 70's and 80's style hair. And the freaks you'll see on it are priceless. And see if you can spot the occasional celebutante or diva. They're always showing up on here.

Anyway, thanks for the tip, Al! Killarious video! That chick can sing! And the guitarist burns! Waiting to see if Maple Metal Records will actually release their albums as they were slated for 2009.

Trivia: This chick is Roxy Lyons. She was then replaced by Sweet Marie Black, which makes this video rather prophetic. And they kinda look alike, well, at least the huge black hairdo.
