Do You Like Stephen Pearcy's New Stuff?

Stephen Pearcy will release Sucker Punch in 2012. We have a few more months to wait, so in the meantime, Pearcy has released a couple of the songs on YouTube. I really like "Over & Over Again." It's true that Pearcy's voice sounds hyper-produced and "smoothed over" but I really dig the song and its sound. Do you?

I like the song, but his voice does not sound like his own. that is what makes him unique...the voice.
Too washed out. The last Ratt album....now that was S.P.

Agree, love the guitar but Pearcy doesn't need the dubbs.

I agree, his voice was given too much studio attention. It doesn't sound like classic Pearcy and it makes it boring in my opinion.

Sounds very familiar I dont know if it reminds me of Wanted Man or Back for More but the Guitar riff is straight out of 85 which is awesome. The vocals are way to processed but maybe its my crappy speakers at work..

I still like it...

Musically is sounds raw and I like it. Vocally not so much. I wish he'd devote more time to a new Ratt album and less time on a solo project that even most Ratt fans could give a crap about.

I saw Ratt last year with the Scorpions. I was really looking forward to Ratt because of the new stuff mixed with the classics. But, Pearcy's voice is nowhere near what it used to be. Very thin sounding. I guess too many years of cigarettes and booze.

I like it alot! Everyone wants to compare it to Ratt, but obviously he is trying to sound diffrent. He did the same on Social Intercourse and Fueler. He really switched it up for Vertex compared to Arcade which was Ratt part 2! The last Ratt album was awesome and he says there is another on deck just chill and enjoy SUCKER PUNCH and be happy that the bands we grew up with are still trying to stay relevant.

Hmm, the riff kicks as and the voice is smoothed out a bit but this is production in 2011. 8/10

I agree, music is cool, but the vox sound very safe and lackluster.

I like it! Yeah, his voice is different on this, but it still sounds cool. Obviously the way he sings when in Ratt must kill his voice, so he's chosen to not strain it on his solo stuff now. It's a fresh and catchy riff, too. More power to him if he wants to continue creating beyond The Realm of Ratt.

sounds like junk. just the same old homogenized stuff. nothing i'd want to spin.
