Valora Just Rocks!

The other day, I was getting ready to get out of my car at the gym and this song came on the satellite radio called "I Waited For You" and I noted the band was Valora. I listened to the entire song and dug around for a piece of paper to write down the band and song title just so I could post on here. It's rare when a band makes me take notice like that.

So Valora is from Whittier, California and is female fronted. They are on Hollywood Records and their sound is sort of a cross between Kelly Clarkson, The Bangles, Halestorm and a little Lita Ford. There isn't much else to say. Sometimes it is better to let the music do the talking. Watch.

On first listen, reminds me a lot of Evanescence. A good first impression.

Slightly confused about the make up of the group. Is it a solo singer with a back up band or a full band?

Went to the website and was even more confused. Seems like Syd thinks this is her solo band.

One tweet says it all. "My dad just let me know that he bought my single "I Waited For You" on itunes. Have you? :)"

I like the music, just don't know if they would last with the dynamic.

Definitely not my scene at all. Way, way too generic.

Not too bad; nice pop hook, well produced. But not very exciting. I think the combo this evokes is quite a bit simpler -- Evanescence fronted by Kelly Clarkson would do it. Nice pipes, but in a generic, American Idol vein. No rock to this, no roll, just a lot of effort. I have no doubt that this band will continue in this vein and put out an album of stuff that sounds just like this.
