Bring Back Glam! Best Albums of 2011

It's that time again!

It's hard to believe it's the end of the year and before you know it, we'll all be ringing in 2012. To mark the end of the year, Bring Back Glam! is happy to present the best albums of 2011. Like last year, Christian and Brian helped me compile this list. Here's the list in no real order... except for the top spot of course!

The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up (Allyson's selection)
Nickelback - Here and Now (Allyson's selection)
Anthrax - Worship Music  (Brian's selection)
Primus - Green Naugahyde  (Brian's selection)
Don Jamieson - Live and Hilarious  (Brian's selection)
Black Veil Brides - Set the World on Fire (Christian's selection)
Chickenfoot - III (Christian's selection)
Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 My Nightmare (Christian's selection)
Steel Panther - Balls Out (Allyson's selection)

Drumroll please...

What was the best record of 2011 (according to Allyson)? This was a no brainer. Asking Alexandria released Reckless and Relentless in April. After I saw the band at Rock on the Range (with guest performer Sebastian Bach) I was pretty much hooked. Asking Alexandria has gotten me through a lot of really hard runs these past few months and Reckless and Relentless (along with the band's other releases) has made me very happy. I haven't listened to any other album - from any year, genre or band - more than Reckless and Relentless in 2011.

Yeah, Bri. Primus? I was gonna ask you about that, hahaha!!! I actually saw Primus twice yet I can't even recall who exactly it was they opened for, though I must confess, Claypool's technical prowess is quite impressive, as is his songwriting!

That said, his stuff duzn't quite deliver the numb headed simplistic majesty of a solid riff, lick or hook on the scale of, let's say, a KIX, necessary to be considered Rock'n'Roll. I would classify it more as Jazz influenced Prog, dare I say, Rock.

AND now I have the audacity to ask you for your entire list for Best of 2012! I know you can BRING THE ROCK! I Always want to know what a fellow Marylander and Kixter thinx!

p.s. Sorry, Bri... ain't done harrassin' ya yet... You goin' on The Monsters Of Rock Cruise? It's gonna be KIX X 2, ya know, as they're playin' the Pre-Party, too! I'm gonna be at M3, too! Hey, man -- sorry for beatin' on Primus so bad, bro. I'm sure I got plenty of stuff I like, you would probably diss. That's what makes Hemi Cuda races! Rock On, my Metal Bro!

p.s. And if you, or anyone else for that matter, got any biggies from '91 I forgot, too, pleez add!

Okie dokie my list is my top 6 But before I do anything.......

Metalboy! The Ozzy album from 91 is No More Tears, Diary was from 81 lol

In no particular order

1.Megadeth-13
2.Anthrax Worship Music
3. Steel Panther-Balls Out
4.Stryper-The Covering
5.Toxic Holocaust-Conjure and Command
6.Chickenfoot-3

Honorable Mention- The Worst album of 2011 and in the running for all time with the Pac-Man Album, Metal Machine Music and Sadly Nitro-O.F.R. (Although it holds a special place in my heart) Is Lou Reed and Metallica's (Loutallica)Concept Album Lulu.

That album has provided me with more laughs and things to talk about then i know what to do with. Me and my friends actually did a podcast breaking down why it was what it was and can Metallica recover from a series of events that I can only parallel (in a very erie and almost identical mirror of things)to Kiss's Music from the Elder and the period from Dynasty To Creatures of The Night. Very weird comparison i now but believe me i'm as perplexed as anyone lol

Although it was released in late 2010, Accept's Blood Of Nations absolutely kicks major ass.

OTSK in 2012!

Yeah! No More Tears! What the h*ll was I thinkin'?!

I'l tell ya what I was thinkin'! I made a list for '81 also and somehow I got that confused. What else is new?! I need an editor!

Still, No More Tears gets in on that song alone. Absolutely KILLERIFIC!

AND swear I was gonna mention that Lulu of a Lulu, "Lulu" as not only THE Worst Album of 2012, but THE Worst Album In The History Of Recorded Music, but I spaced it out into the trash heap of my mind where all those other lost thoughts go. I'd rather listen to "Little Alvin & The Chipmunk's Christmas" before I ever hear that frickin' "Lulu" again! That whole excursive is the best evidence yet of just how stoopid that jack*ss Lars Ulrich is!

Gary, did I tell ya before, I saw Accept at Firestone Live! in Orlando this past Summer? Infrickinsane!!!

Even got 'em to do "Midnite Mover"! That was the best concert I saw in 2010 and that includes Crüe/Poison! Basically it was The Entire History of Metal as presented by Wolf Hoffman, hahaha!!! I'm surprised he just didn't walk out after and throw his trademark white Super Strat in the dumpster and retire because there wasn't one note in the universe this guy did not play!

Oh, yeah, and I saw 'em once before in '92 at Hammerjack's in Baltimore with Udo!

A little late but since you asked Metalboy! I'd put Motörhead "The World Is Yours" and The Insomniacs "Just Enjoy It!" on my top five next to the aforementioned Electric Boys, D-A-D and Steel Panther.
