Rocklahoma 2011 Bands Announced

ROCKLAHOMA returns May 27-29 to kick off summer with the nation’s biggest Memorial Day Weekend party at “Catch the Fever” Festival Grounds in Pryor, OK! 2011 marks the 5^th Anniversary of the three-day camp & rock festival that will feature a mix of the best classic bands and today’s top active rock artists.  ROCKLAHOMA is proud to be presented by Bud Light.   The initial ROCKLAHOMA lineup includes: Mötley Crüe, Staind, Whitesnake, Seether, Papa Roach, Saving Abel, Skillet, Sick Puppies, Sebastian Bach, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool, My Darkest Days, Rev Theory, All That Remains, Escape The Fate, Cavo, The Gracious Few (featuring members of Live and Candlebox), Hail the Villain, Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights, Taddy Porter, Pop Evil, Crooked X, Texas Hippie Coalition, New Medicine, Art of Dying, Electric Touch, One Less Reason, Gypsy Pistoleros, Alias, Wildstreet, The Glitter Boys, Gunner Sixx, Black Tora, Mad Max, Aura Surreal, Firstryke, Aska, Pretty Little Suicide, Arena, Blue Tiger, Bad Things, Cutlass, Mock Star and more special guests to be announced.

Not bad at all. I would pay to go see Whitesnake and Skillet as I have never seen them live. BLS and Crue were real good at Ozzfest thius past year too. Skip Staind though.

I think this is the last year you will have any glam on the bill. With the fact that there are 3 bands that are "glam era" & the rest is heavier, the majority of the crowd is going to be for the more modern bands. I know that I wouldn't pay to go, even if I didn't have to travel. I think it is going to be hard to convince "glam bands" to come after the reception, I believe, they will receive this year.

Motley Crue and Whitesnake. That's the headliners M3 needs. Not just Whitesale...er...um...I mean...uh...well, you know.

If they add Poison to Rocklahoma, as I, along with Will, speculate they might, I'll go.

And if they add the Dolls, all the merrier. I love the irony of this lineup as it's 2 icons plus the icon they ripped off (Crue for the Dolls' looks and Poison for their licks, though, granted, The Pistols stole 'em first).

And if I go, I'll go in style with the Rockstar Package. Just look at the leather glove treatment you get with that deal!

Now all I need is the off duty Vegas Stripper to come along and get in a catfight with Vince's Blondtourage (love what you named 'em, Al!).

Interestingly, if you subtract Crue and 'Snake from Rocklahoma, you are basically getting Rock-On-The-Range give or take a few Daughtry On Steroids Sound-a-likes With Hair And Louder, Cooler Looking Guitars or Emo Metal (Hey, there's another Metal Category for ya, Jeff, "Emo Metal", which is what 70% of the crap you could classify as "Nu Metal" is).

The exception, of course, being Bad City. Damn, I want to see them.

Hopefully, I can scrape the bread together for all of these fests, if they hone up the line-ups a little more.

Maybe I can time my trip to Memphis, Cleveland and L.A. to coincide with all of the fests this Summer plus Sweden Rocks. I would love to catch Priest and Crash Diet.

I have been to all previous Rocklahomas and this is my favorite line up since year one. I would lose a couple and add a couple but all in all this lineup is GREAT!!!!

Why didn't M3 keep it to 1 day and pull Crue and Poison in and kill off all the also rans?

I know what some people are gonna say... that M3 duzn't have the budget. Well, either they're overpayin' Whitesnake or stealin' the money.

Otherwise, how the h*ll did they afford Scorpions, Cinderella, Vince, Kix, etc., etc...last year?!
