Here's the press release:
Ft Lauderdale, FL – February 21, 2011 – The retro styling of LA’s multi-platinum Buckcherry and their string of hard-rocking anthems and power ballads lead the way for this year’s ShipRocked 2011. The Music and Life-style cruise sets sail November 14-19, 2011 heading for the tip of Mexico and its popular stretch of gorgeous Caribbean water known for scuba diving, shopping and bars aplenty. Buckcherry headlines along with fellow rockers Oklahoma’s Hinder (“Lips Of An Angel”,” Use Me”), metal titans Hellyeah! featuring members of Mudvayne and the legendary Pantera who bring their stampeding metal groove on-board and SR 2010 alum, Atlanta’s Sevendust, brought back by the demand of prior cruisers – bringing an intensity only matched by 20-foot sea swells, helping solidify a four-pronged trident of rock and roll mayhem.
ASK4 Entertainment’s Alan Koenig promises “ShipRocked 2011 will be five days of wall-to-wall music, giving fans the rare opportunity to listen to and hang out with rock stars on a luxury cruise ship. With the confirmed artists onboard (and additional acts to be announced), there’s enough music for whatever your heart rate can withstand” Main support comes from LA’s In This Moment led by the vocal pyrotechnics of Maria Brink. And we’re happy to have returning late-night favorites Lynam, as well as the inescapable Texas thunder of Broken Teeth led by the affable Jason McMaster, and new sensation Rival Sons and their brand of 70’s style guitar groove.
The setting is the MSC Poesia (Italy) one of the cruise industry’s most acclaimed new super cruise ships. It all begins in Fort Lauderdale, FL, visiting the premier Mexican ports of Costa Maya and Cozumel. Exuding her Italian roots, the Poesia features include the luxurious Aqua Spa, two pools, four Jacuzzis, a state-of-the-art cardio gym, salon, sushi bar, wine tasting bar, the Teatro Carlo Felice, a beautiful, 3-level, Las Vegas-style theater, and additional stages for ShipRocked bands and passengers to enjoy all night long!
Prices start at only $799 per person, based on double occupancy, and include exclusive access to all ShipRocked concerts and special events, deluxe stateroom, meals, ship activities, ship entertainment and much, much more! Space is limited so early booking is encouraged to guarantee your cabin. General on-sale begins on Monday, February 28, 2011.
Tickets for ShipRocked 2011 are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and are only available at www.GetShipRocked.com or by calling 1-888-438-9509.

So UNROCK!
I nearly fell asleep leaning on the railing of the upper deck while watching mystified as my fellow Glametaloidz moshed to their beloved heroes. Though I enjoyed watching my friends boppin' around in front of the stage, the show itself was a definite lowpoint of the cruise, sorry!
But, hey, knock yourself out even if there ain't nothin' to this lickless, hookless borefest of a band. Huh-uh-lo-oh!
I will say, though, one of the most comical moments of last years cruise was watchin' the lead singer of Sevendust, what's his growl, introduce himself to Vince Neil and Dana Strum in the boat's sushi restaurant. They seemed oblivious as to who he was nor much cared, thinkin' he was another drooling fan or something.
Look, say what you want but Neil and Strum were polite and cordial toward the guy yet you could tell they were completely disinterested in the guy's "music" and seemed intent on keeping it that way, just as I am.

Hinder Shminder. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Buckcherry! Phew! Thank The Metal Godz!
Broken Teeth! Yes! Ditto the above.
Lynam. This kid is pretty good but he needs a more Rock'n'Rollish lookin' band who look as Rocked Out as he does. He's got the look, but the rest of 'em look like DORKS!
Let's hope they add Kix and/or another biggie to round out the cruise.
Nevertheless, the cruise is loads of fun. You feel like you're on this island of Metal people. The overall effect of the cruise on Shiprocked passengers is it makes you wish there was a Metal country out there somewhere we could all just move to.
Let's just hope the entertainment is up to snuff just as we hope there is another announcement of at least one more heavy addition to the Shiprocked line-up.
p.s. Hey, Bri! Just curious, were those your M3 4th Row VIP tickets I saw sell on Ebay recently? I assume you'll be front and center this year, as well. See ya there.
Last year, I payed the brokers through the nose for 3rd and 4th row center seats at the last minute.
Believe me, you made lightening strike twice! I don't know how you did it, but it's pretty remarkable that you had front row center last year and 4th row this year. Phenomenal!
As usual, I'll pull it off at the last minute.
Rock On, Metal Brother!
I've instead chosen to go on the Rock Legends Cruise on December 1st (to the Bahamas) that is headlined by ZZ Top, George Thorogood, Molly Hatchet, The Marshall Tucker Band, and several other big name bands. Plus, the Rock Legends Cruise is on a nicer cruise line (Royal Caribbean) and the entire ship is exclusively the Rock cruise (unlike Shiprocked which has at least half the boat filled with random people).
