'Someone, Somewhere' Is Definitely A Glam Song

One more Asking Alexandria post and I'll quit talking about them for awhile. I freaking love this band! Their new album Reckless & Relentless is awesome -- basically the only thing I've listened to for weeks.

Here's the thing: Asking Alexandria is not a Glam band. But, they are influenced by 80s metal and the entire vibe of the Glam scene. AA guitarist Ben Bruce even told me that he's "bringing back Glam!"

So, I thought I would post another AA song, in the off-chance I could convert another fan or two. I think "Someone, Somewhere" should be a single from Reckless & Relentless. Actually, I think this is the song that could crossover and make the band huge. And there's Glam guitars in this track, too! "Someone, Somewhere" is my favorite Asking Alexandria song by a mile. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

oh i like that sounds like 'the lost prophets' nice to hear something thats not spoilt by annoying metalcore sections to make the song sound cool and hip,theres a lot of bands saying their influenced by glam rock and 80s metal that pander to the metalcore crowd so this is refreshing

@Dave,

Don't think it is their single - in the traditional sense of the word, as in radio push and video. They have been doing the song on TV appearances. The cynic in me says they don't have any other choice because of the language in most of their other tracks.

I was surprised when AA released an "official" video for 'Closure' and not 'Someone, Somewhere.'

The band is doing something special tho - you'll read about what they are doing with their videos soon when my interview posts on Noisecreep.

Personally, I think it sucks....The singing isn't very good and it doesn't go with the music.

Not too bad. The more I listen to it, the more I'm liking it.

Not too bad. They straddle the Nu Metal sound and 80's Glam Metal guitars with aplomb. Still, the name is total crap but we've been down that before, as some of you may recall. Saving Samantha, anyone?

I love their album and like you it's all I've been listening to. I definitely hear the glam influence and think that is awesome about what Ben said! I do hope they make this a single(no it's currently not...) and make a video. And when will ur interview be up?

Glam? Really? It sounds like many metalcore bands that have clean and dirty vocals, except there is no dirty, Thought the music was very unoriginal also.

glamless. just another cookie cutter wannabe metal band. tell the guitarist he isn't bringing back glam.
