Monster Energy Sailing On ShipRocked 2011

Here's some cool information from my good friends at ShipRocked. Have you booked your cabin yet? There's still time - the fun happens in November!

Los Angeles, CA - July 28, 2011 - Monster Energy joins ShipRocked 2011 as it sets sail November 14-19, 2011 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, heading for the tip of Mexico and the Caribbean. Now in its fourth year, ShipRocked brings a mix of classic and new rock powerhouses upon the seas featuring LA's multi-platinum Buckcherry, along with progressive metal pioneers Queensrÿche, Oklahoma retro rockers Hinder, metal desperados Hellyeah, the hard rocking crowd favorite Sevendust, Australia's hot export Sick Puppies, rock radio mainstays Candlebox and alt-rock pioneers Filter, funk-rock champions Living Colour, and LA's road warriors In This Moment, are all sure to wreak havoc on the high seas. Main support comes from SR perennials and favorites Lynam as well as the inescapable Texas thunder of Broken Teeth and new sensation Rival Sons.

In response to Monster Energy's involvement ShipRocked's Alan Koenig stated," ShipRocked is very proud to welcome Monster Energy as it shares our commitment to supporting great music. On ShipRocked, cruise goers will have the chance to experience a concert event with an intensity only matched by 20-foot sea swells, helping solidify a four-pronged trident of rock and roll mayhem."  Koenig adds, "ShipRocked 2011 will truly be the ultimate rock and roll cruise vacation. We've got an amazing lineup of artists, all meeting and greeting fans, performing multiple shows over five days and nights.  We'll be sailing to two exotic ports-of-call onboard a beautiful new luxury liner filled with spacious balcony cabins.  Mix in a lot of fun with the warm Caribbean sun, and it's simply the best value out there."

The setting is the MSC Poesia, one of the cruise industry's most acclaimed new super cruise ships, which features the luxurious Aqua Spa, two pools, four Jacuzzis, a state-of-the-art cardio gym, salon, sushi bar, a la carte Italian dining, wine tasting bar, and the Teatro Carlo Felice, a beautiful and intimate Las Vegas-style theater.   It all begins in Fort Lauderdale, FL, visiting the premier Mexican ports of Costa Maya and Cozumel.  Prices start at only $799 per person (subject to availability), based on double occupancy, and include all access to all ShipRocked concerts and special events, deluxe stateroom, meals, ship facilities, and much, much more!  Space is limited so early booking is encouraged to guarantee your cabin.

Tickets for ShipRocked 2011 are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and are only available by booking online at www.GetShipRocked.com   or by calling 1-888-438-9509.

Totally. If Monster Energy is smart they will underwrite the Monsters of Rock Cruise also, if that is, indeed, something it's promotors would even want.

Of course, it's all contingent on exclusive rights, etc., etc. But if they could, they should, as it's a better fit, marketing- wise, because of the whole "Monster" thing. No reason to sponsor one and not the other. After all, BOTH cruises are worthy of endorsement.

p.s. Jovan was one of the first products to sponsor Rock shows. They sponsored The Stones in the early 80's. That would be an interesting topic -- "Weird Rock Tour Sponsorships", except I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Oh, and just to stir the boatload of Monster Energy that will be on Shiprocked! this go around, you do realize the stuff can kill you, don't you? -- well, theoretically, of course. Read the can, tho, before you start merrily chugging away. Do you really want to put that garbage in your body? I know, I know -- the way I'm sounding, I should probably change my name to "Motherboy!", but let's not go there. I can hear the Fletches of the world now.

After all, I suppose it can kill you no more than that weird "ham" or some of the other unidentifiable food like objects in the cafeteria on both of these cruises (they are both in the same boat, albeit at different times of the year). But I also heard
The food was supposed to dramatically improve on Shiprocked! this year.

I do hope the food on Monsters of Rock will reflect thse improvements as well.

p.s. Gotta wonder if this Monster Energy endorsement will effect Google searches of The Monsters of Rock Cruise. Hmmmm...
