New Aerosmith Song 'Street Jesus' Leaks
Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 12:01AM
The new Aerosmith song "Street Jesus" just leaked online. The song is on the upcoming album Music From Another Dimension, due November 6.
Guitarist Brad Whitford has been sitting on the song a long time apparently. Steven Tyler wrote some lyrics for the tune, and here we are. Bassist Tom Hamilton says the song has a Toys In the Attic vibe. I don't know about that exactly, but it does have a throw back vibe. Check it out:

In fact, I'll go out on a limb (when have I not?) here and say... THIS is THE BEST song they've done since -- are you ready for this? -- "Draw The Line"!!!
Yep. And when you listen closely you can hear why Tom Hamilton would say this has a "Toys In The Attic" vibe from the rolling bass line, but it actually has the jamtastic feel of something that could have been on "ROCKS".
This is what we've been asking for since they jumped the shark and got all sugar coated after 1985's criminally maligned "Done with Mirrors" album.
We've finally got more "ROCKS"! Even if it's the only song on the new album that really sounds like that era, it's better than nothing!
p.s. First KISS on Letterman -- you can view the entire pre-show "stripped down" (as Ace Steele accurately described it) concert on CBS.com -- and now THIS! Seventies Glam is BACK, people!
Speaking of Aerosmith & KISS, did anybody see Steven Tyler's comments the other day, where he totally dissed on Kiss? I thought that was really tacky.
Too bad Tyler doesn't realize that it demeans his rep and that of Aerosmith when he speaks negatively about another hugely popular and equally enduring American Rock Band as his own?
And $immons and Stanley will be the first to admit their schtick is comic book. That's part of their image and concept that's really quite brilliant and an original, singular cultural icon known throughout he world.
Even if it's true that Aerosmith's music might, in fact, be better than KISS' overall, doesn't mean you should trash 'em.
Better to, in the words of Joe Perry, "Let The Music Do The Talking".
