Meet Black Oxygen
As a band, Black Oxygen has potential. Yes they are slick, but they don’t necessarily sound like every other radio band on the block. There’s some grit here.
I stumbled across Black Oxygen whilst trolling YouTube. I liked their name so I gave them a click. The lead singer’s look struck me as Glam – he does look like he’s straight out of 1989, so they’ve earned a spot on this site, at least for today.
The band is from Kansas City. Very All-American, yes? The debut album is called The American Dream. They self-released the title, so good for them.

This video looks like a "Modern Rock" band interloping onto the set of a Ciroc commercial but Diddy split the scene already cuz he couldn't stand the music, which would be the only thing he would have gotten right regarding music besides sampling "Kashmir".
In the end did pick the other band Deadwood Stone, which I caught opening for Slash here in Detroit. Also a good sound, check em out. I like their tune Roll On. Pretty good live.
It's EVERYTHING about the song and the video that's misguided. The whole wannabe Nightclubber "vibe" is ridiculous. Having been a virtual urchin of these kinds of joints both in New York City and South Beach throughout the last decades, personally wasting thousands of dollars on table service and all of the other trappings that go along with the experience, I can assure you, it is the most plastic, vacuous "disco" scene completely incongruous to anything even vaguely resembling Rock & Roll.
It is utterly ridiculous to find these clowns celebrating such an empty existence. Oh, and let's face it, the song completely sucks, to boot. Just sayin'.
