The 2012 Rock Fest Lineup Is Amazing

Holy. Crap. The lineup for Rock Fest, held annually in Cadott, Wisconsin is freaking amazing. The festival is slated for July 19 - 22.

Here are the bands:

Thursday:
Buckcherry, TBA, Art of Dying and a headliner TBA

Friday:
Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Hollywood Undead, Halestorm, Ten Years

Saturday:
Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Papa Roach, Adelitas Way

Sunday:
Def Leppard, Poison, TBA, TBA, Firehouse

I wish I could go to this... in fact, this might just be too good to pass up. It's time to get my glam friends together and plan. My gut tells me that all those TBAs will be bands we love -- especially on Sunday.

Tickets are on sale now. VIP packages are available. Let's do a roll call on this one: if you are attending, leave a comment. Let's get a BBG! contingent together - this could rule.

Several other bands are now filled in on the Rock Fest website as well. Not sure Dilana is going to increase the draw on Thursday. And Papa Roach on Saturday is an, ahem, acquired taste.

I bet the people who bought M3 tickets are feeling mighty happy right now

Haha, Gary. Just so you know, I watched "Flight 666" for like the fifth time but this time with the sound off, which I have to say, I like much better, hahaha!!!

Still, I am happy for those who are into 'em and are going to this. Let Metal Bygones be Metal Bygons. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to lack of enthusiasm for Maiden but I really do like a handful of their songs and absolutely LOVE Dickinson's "Tattooed Millionaire" album which is vastly superior than anything Maiden ever did, IMHO.

Christian, you goin' to M3? I'm glad to see Ratt will be there. Of course, Def and Poison really would have rounded it out but I guess that wouldn't be financially feasible.

Metalboy, no, work finalised the decision for me, I am able to get to ROTR but not M3 ( the reverse happened last year ). But, if I was going, it would be to see friends, I think the only band on the bill I've not seen was Lynch Mob and while there is a good number of bands I enjoy, none justified the expense involved. From where I stand, M3 has dropped several notches from the festival that had the Scorpions headlining.

Christian, you are soooooo right! It really was incredible to see Cinderella and then, as if that could be topped, Scorpions to boot!

Speaking as a Rock Fest veteran (8+ years), I can attest to the quality of the event. It truly is a weekend of debauchery, and would recommend this to anyone that enjoys drinking all day/night, and seeing good music. If you are planning to attend, you need to camp. I may have to miss this year do to a wedding that weekend, but may be able to get out of it.
