Adler Performs 'Waterfall'
Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 12:01AM
Here's another track from Steven Adler's new band, Adler. It rocks. I'm so, so, so excited for the Adler debut album. I really think it's going to go over well in the music world. I heard the band's first single "The One That You Hated" the other day on Ozzy's Boneyard (satellite radio) and I got really excited. This band is going places!

The guy singing, Jacob? He has a nice voice & it's a decent song.
Good to see him finally progress a little bit. Good luck Steve.
P.S. Dropping the " 's Appetite" from your band name was the best thing you could do for your career.
Good One Allyson
1) These guys will NEVER be taken seriously with the name 'Adler'. Just dumb. Change the name to something "cool" and "modern" and they have a chance.
2) Doesnt it just feel like its an old, beaten down, has-been drummer hangin out with the coolest looking "and most talented" guys he could find? I mean, seriously, would these guys hire a drummer his age if he just didnt happen to be Steven Adler and have a pile of money and have GREAT connections to get signed, to get gigs, and get promotion? And dont get me wrong, I friggin LOVE Steven, but this just feels like somebody is trying to hard.
I seriously dont get the hate above me here in the comments on Adlers Appetite either. That band was EXACTLY what Steven should of been doing.
Really, naming the band something crap like Asking Alexandria would be cooler? Nah! Adler is way cooler. He oughta get some groove chrome lettering to match that dude's zebra print spandex, too. Ace, that stuff will NEVER die as long as it's worn with conviction. It's what you call "Retro-chic". It's also fun and hip.
And, though I am happy to see a competent singer, Jacob Lynam wade into the big leagues with the likes of Adler, please have the situational awareness that he's kind of a dingus. At least that's been my impression of him on more than one occasion on various Rock Cruises.
And, Kenny O, tho you and I agree on most everything, reality is, Adler is hardly loaded in the financial sense.
As for his financial situation (as he reported on Stern), he was destitute, but he (his mom, actually, on his behalf) lawyered up after he was kicked out of the band and he was forced to sign over rights. He was eventually awarded (I think he said) 2 million in back royalties and perhaps some money in future royalties which was put into a trust in his name and his handled by a firm so he doesn't squander it. I am not sure steve even understands the financial part of the settlement. Is he "loaded"?, did he "embellish" his financial situation? I don't know, but axl has said on many occasions that Steve's mom (specifically) is one reason there won't be a GNR reunion.
Also, I met Jacob Lyman a couple of times when his band opened for Cinderella and have his CD in my collection. To me, he seemed more shy than being a dingus. He reminded me of a young Tom Keifer (not that I personally know tom) but perhaps that's why Tom took him under his wing. However, Tom has been vocal about his own substance abuse problems especially earlyon in his career, so I hope Jacob wasn't (isn't) blending flattery and imitation into obsession and truly being a dingus. It's a fine line to travel sometimes.
Quite simply, I'd say he's an opportunist who has no idea how to be a REAL Rock & Roller.
Again, not taking away anything from his talent and singing ability. Maybe it's his "voice" he needs to work on, meaning... What he believes in and how he expresses it, not so much on stage, but off.
My observation of him is he has a very shallow perception of the human condition and the music business.
Have him contact me if he needs any clarification.
