'You Better Not Love Me' -- New L.A. Guns Song

L.A. Guns (Phil Lewis version) will release the album Hollywood Forever June 5. The first single from the album is "You Better Not Love Me." The band performed the single live pretty recently and you can watch that below. Alternatively, you can listen to the album track here.

I like the new single - it reminds me of Girl!

Anything that sounds like GIRL is OK by me.

Girl= One of the greatest bands hardly anyone knows about.
How they skillfully avoided being one of the biggest bands of the 80's is a mystery for the ages.

Phil Lewis proves, yet again, that there is only ONE L.A. Guns. Love the track.

Well said Kenny. My thoughts exactly.

His voice still sounds good. The song is kind of EH. It may be because it is live, so I will wait for a studio version.

A) the 'Real' L.A. Guns was comprised of Phil Lewis, Tracii Guns, Mick Cripps, Kelly Nickels and Steven Riley,,, so let's all stop the redundant comments over the validity of either band using that name in 2012.

B) thoughts on the song:
- song is not terrible, did not give me a raging chub either. Still not up to par with anything on 'Waking The Dead'.
- production / mix is great
- album cover is horrible

I love the tune and the live video looks cool -- classic "Guns" vibe. Furthermore, I agree that it definitely smacks of Girl -- which is a HUGE plus! However, I remain confused as to who is exactly in some of these reunion/spin-off bands -- especially regarding LA Guns, given their multiple make overs in the last fifteen years. I totally get Mike's point about the "real" LA Guns. If the rest of this version's record is a as groovy as "You Better Not Love Me," they just might have a bona fide winner. Thanks for posting, Allyson.
