Monday Metal

Happy Monday Metal fans!

The weekend seemed to absolutely fly by. In fact, I feel like weekends are going faster and faster.

I was trying to think of something to write about for today and then it dawned on me: I need band suggestions! It's been awhile since I've asked for your band recommendations.

Later this month, I See Stars will release their new album and I'm very excited about that one. Other than that, however, I don't have any other releases on my horizon. This is where you come in. What album releases are you most looking forward to this fall and winter? I'm looking for lists here -- I need some new music to check out! Thanks and have a great day.

Tigertailz - Knives EP releases on October 22, 2013. I look forward to hearing what the new lineup has put together. They released the video for the song The Shoe Collector a few days ago and while the song was decent the video was an 80's cliché. It's always interesting when one of your favorite bands changes their singer because you automatically want to dislike the new guy, but I met up Jules back in 2008 at Rocklahoma, when he was still singing for his band The Deadthings and have good memories of the weekend so I wish him well.

I really don't have much else that comes to mind at the moment and look forward to what everyone else has to share.

Motorhead - Aftershock
77 - Maximum Rock 'n' Roll
And finally, although not glam, Humble Pie - Performance, Rockin' the fillmore, The Complete Recordings

Not entirely new, but pretty close. The new Dregen (Backyard Babaies) solo CD is in the mail to me as we speak. I didn't know he had a solo CD coming out so that was a nice surprise.

I'll be honest I'm also looking forward to the new Katy Perry CD also. I saw Rancid last month and supposedly they have a new one out soon which should be good as always. Not sure when that will be out, but looking forward to it none the less.

I'm sure I'll find a ton of other new music to check out, but you're right, nothing that comes to mind in the glam/sleaze realm. At least in the immediate future that I'm looking forward to.

Right now I am absolutely loving the new A7X, and the new Alter Bridge. The new Asking Alexandria is great, but you knew that. The new 5FDP is good, and the second half is coming out. As Bob said, there's a new Motorhead coming. I am mostly excited about Soundwave in a few months, and hoping for lots of sidewaves ( mostly the bands I listed above )

Other than that, I've been listening to the Hellecasters

All those bands suck, Christian, except Motörhead, though do you really expect any real surprises from Lemmy at this point? His last great album was "1916".

UNROCK!

p.s. I'll have to get back to you on anything to look forward to, though I like 77 and Tigertailz.

Like Christian, I can't get enough of the new A7X. Trivium's new album came out today and I'll be giving that a few listens over the next week.

Aside from that, I'm reading Duff's autobiography right now and that's put me on a bit of an Appetite for Destruction binge.

AFI is the upcoming release I am super stoked on.

New Trivium is out today, I will pick it up out of loyalty,, saw them live last month and the new stuff did not blow me away hopefully just need a couple of listens to get into it.

Grabbed the new Michael Monroe last week, enjoying that one immensely.

Agree Christian. The new Alterbridge is good as well as the new A7X. Definitely getting the new Trivium today.

Wasn't a big fan of Alter Bridge's new one. I loved their last one, this one just isn't clicking for me. Stryper is the one I most looking forward to. And Def Leppard's Live DVD/CD. Even if its out next week.

C'mon on! Seriously, that's all SH*TE!

Well, except for Monroe. Here's what's actually good that's comin' up:

Dangit! Can't find anything... Stay tuned...

Come on Mr. Metalboy! sir, I know you can get on board with 77. Those guys are awesome, if a bit unashamedly derivative.

I'm going to have to unabashedly agree with 100% of what Metalboy said above. I'd rather stick my head in a lawnmower than listen to crap like Asking Alexandria & A7X.

Bob also had the good taste to mention Humble Pie.

The new Micheal Monroe is good.
Paul McCartney has proven why he is the #1 songwriter in the world with his new record, "NEW".

That is all. Resume Party.

The new Trivium is amazing. He actually sings, and that makes all the difference.

Not glam at all, but this week Death Angel and Red Fang released new albums, and I recommend both of them.
On a slightly more glam note ex. New York Doll and current Michael Monroe band member Steve Conte will have a solo album out soon with a bunch of special guests like Dregen and Dennis Dunaway.

The nw five finger death punch kicks ass like the new sevenfold. the newest foo fighters album is good "wasting light" listen to from can to cant by dave grohl and corey taylor it is amazing.

Foo Fighter's and all that sucks, though Grohl has great taste in music, unfortunately, it's other people's music -- Check out "Sound City", his incredible documentary about the legendary L.A. recording studio.

Ace is right and Bob's right about 77. They are 110% BADA*S!

New Rule: If Christian likes it, chances are it s*cks, save for a few slip ups like Accept, Megadeth, Motorhead and most recently, Black Veil Brides.
