Austin Winkler, Out

Hinder has parted ways with singer Austin Winkler. Most know I'm not a Hinder fan, but a lot of you are, so this seemed like important news to pass along.

Austin had to pull out of a tour recently for rehab and Jared Weeks of Saving Abel filled in for him on most dates. I just spoke with Jared for the Dayton City Paper and we chatted about the Hinder gigs.

The band isn't breaking up, so it will be interesting to see who the remaining members of Hinder choose as their new singer. Thoughts?

I haven't been too big a fan of their newer work, but the first two Hinder albums were great in my opinion. I feel this is a similar case to Three Days Grace, where as the vocalist gives the band its distinction from others. Still curious to see who they will get!

I have seen Hinder 6 times live. I guess that will be the final tally. I am turning in my Hinder fan club membership card.

Was never a big fan of there early stuff but really liked all american nightmare. New singers don't always work but some work out great.

I remember reading an interview awhile back when the 'Lips of an angel' song got huge..The singer was a bit 'ego inflated' as he said "we wont go on tour with just any bands out there now, we will ONLY take a tour with the likes of Aerosmith, Motley or KISS, cause we're that good!" sounded like a big slap in the face to the bands that were the same style, but were getting more airplay. Way to lose fans and friends.

Not a Hinder fan either, but this is just a sign of the times. Their sound is falling out of fashion and cracks are showing in these acts.

There will be a reunion tour in 5-7 years; a package with Theory Of A Deadman, 3 Doors Down and Puddle Of Mudd.

Im not a Hinder fan at all really. I remember I had the Extreme Behavior album a long a$$ time ago, and was really into it. But ehhh not so much anymore, I got my own style now. Sucks they lost their singer though, not my favorite then. Just kinda generic.

One of the very few mainstream radio rock bands that I actually like. Make that "liked". This is the death-nail in that band. The first 2 albums were great but its gone waaaaay downhill since then. Hinder = dead.

I would hope that the real Jim Flroentine would know the difference between 'to' and 'too'. *shrugs*

If they change singers, will they stop sounding like "Nickleback-lite". And that is NOT a compliment.
