Tom Keifer Does 'Shake Me' Acoustic

As we've previously discussed, Tom Keifer is currently on a solo tour. Now, videos are surfacing of some of the first dates. Here's Tom doing an acoustic version of "Shake Me." This video was made in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

I am so bummed. I live in Winston-Salem and was very sick the night of his show and couldn't go. Looking forward to seeing the whole band on MOR cruise, but this would have been something special.

Is it wrong that my first thought when I watched this was, "Wow, his voice must really be shot if this is the way he's doing Shake Me now." Now, that said, if I was actually at the show, I probably would have had fun singing along with this bluesy version, so as long as people are having fun with it, who am i to judge?

Tom is not coming up to Canada unfortunately so I won't be seeing his solo tour, which is too bad since he is one of my favorites. Would love to hear from someone who has seen this show.

My guess is he is just doing this to put a new spin on an old classic. I doubt very much that he can't sing Shake Me anymore. Perhaps others in the know can weigh in and set the record straight.

AMAZING! This shows you just how talented Keifer is.

Here he proves he doesn't have to scream every song and this is the perfect forum for him to really showcase the finer subtleties of his voice.

Hey, NC Rocker! I too shall be on The Monsters of Rock Cruise! Get ready to ROCK THE BOAT, Bro!

And hearing a new take on an old Cinderella song like "Shake Me" stripped down to an acoustic blues romp is nothing short of refreshing AND really shines a light on just how great Keifer's lyrics are, whether embedded in the Glam METAL original or an acoustic blues rendition.

I love this version, would love to see a live Tom Keifer release in the future that includes it. Looking forward to his solo studio release.

Hey JT Keifer did this version on a cd I have called vh1 metal mania stripped! Also on the cd scorps, white snake, night ranger, poison, jani lane, tesla,Stephen Pearcy,Dokken, Bullet Boys,LA Guns, Firehouse , Great White. It's a pretty cool CD . A few those guys got together a few years back for the stripped across America tour. I saw it in Md. Jani Lane had a bit of a meltdown started singing Purple Rain then ran off the stage. It sucked for him and I sure miss him and his music.

Hey, Rita, I saw Cinderella on The Monsters of Rock Cruise last year and Keifer sang his a*s off!!!

I'm gettin' ready to witness it all over again in about a month!

p.s. I would love to see him solo acoustic, however, for sure.

Awesome Metalboy! I saw him in June 2010 with Cinderella and he sounded fantastic. Would love to see them again and if he was in my neck of the woods with this tour, I would go for sure.

Enjoy the MOR Cruise. I'm sure that will be a blast.
