Some Rocklahoma 2013 Videos

Rocklahoma is going down this weekend in Pryor, Oklahoma. I wish I was there... but instead I've been killing myself doing home renovation projects. YouTube to the rescue as always... here's some clips from Rocklahoma 2013 so far.

RATT - "Round and Round"

RATT - "In Your Direction"

Guns n' Roses - "Estranged"

Guns n' Roses - "Patience"

Two things were learned...

RATT: "Wielding Juan" is still the whole visual show & makes them sound pretty good.

Guns n' Posers : This bears no resemblance to the real band, & is a joke. Axl should hang it up.

Ratt still got it,plain and simple. Plugging Cavazo into Robbins spot (RIP big guy) was a very slick move.He mesh's perfectly with my man Demartini.I will definitely catch them if this latest jaunt gets within striking distance of me.As for Axl, (I refuse to call that G&R) I liked it better when you secluded yourself in your mansion and the world never heard from ya for like 7 years... 8-)

I'm now back from Rocklahoma... With the passes I had I was able to get into the small pit directly in front of the stage. Ratt was really good. The set list contained all of the usual tunes. I've got to say, G'N'R was better than I expected them to be. I didn't stay up front for the whole show but I watched 3/4 from the pit area. I actually enjoyed the set. Dokken was bad.. really bad. Don just can't do what he was once able to do. The rest of Don's band is talented and kept Don a float. I was in the gates prior to them opening and caught Dokken's sound check so I wasn't expecting much from them. Must say I thought Alice In Chains was good.. way better than expected. But, the band that stole the show.. CHEAP TRICK. Great selection of songs, Rick's onstage antics, and Robin's vocals sealed the deal. I was up front and center for the whole set. I would be lying if I said Cheap Trick is as good as they were 15 or 20 years ago.. but they are still better than 95% of the bands out there.

The place to be was the Retrospect records Stage.. London killed it, Lynam was great (as usual), The Last Vegas had everyone rockin', and Hessler always brings it. Wildstreet's farewell show was spot on (hate to see it end). Other standouts.. Station, Nasty Habit, Wicked, Glitter Boys (fronted by a female), and Firstryke. I will not mention the band with the least people watching.
