Best Wishes To Vivian Campbell

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has announced he has Hodgkin's lymphoma. Campbell made the announcement via his Facebook page, citing a constant cough as a warning sign to get checked out.

Campbell is in the middle of chemo but will tour with Def Leppard later this summer.

I know I speak for everyone here when I say I hope Vivian gets well soon. Cancer is no joke and my best to him and the rest of Def Lep.

Always hate reading about a "cough" or some normal malady takes you in and BAM, life changer. As with any treatment, early detection will be the key.

Talented musician with a great band. Was very nice and cordial the only time I've ever spoken to him. Get well soon !!!

BTW - last Tuesday (June 4th) got to finally, finally see Rival Sons live. Completely and utterly ROCKED. Spot the F* on !!! Awesome voice !!! Sad it was in the downstairs bar of a really nice club, but then again... that makes it unique.

If any of you out there want to check out an underrated gem from Vivian, look up the self-titled Shadow King CD that was released in 1991. His guitar work on that disc was just as amazing as Lou Gramm's vocals on every track. Melodic rock at its best!

Dustin, I will look for "Shadow King." After that watching commendable cover of Purple Haze; I would love to hear Campbell with Lou Gramm.

It always makes me sad when anybody in his or her prime gets hit with a horrible accident or decease. Hoping for the best possible outcome.

let's remember sean...cancer, thankfully, is no longer the "death sentence" that it was when we were growing up. Vivian has annouced that he's still touring with DL this summer, but he doeasn't want to "scare" anybody by his appearance. Given his statement, I'm sure that he will beat this awful disease and rock our world for many years to come. I'm optimistic. kick some cancer ass, viv; and then kick ours! we're here...were waiting!

God Bless and Godspeed, Viv! Not only is Campbell's guitar wizardry (the guy is fast!) amazing on Shadow King, but let's not forget his stint in DIO from '82-'86, which I actually think was his pinnacle.

Aside from Lep, DIO and Shadowking, Campbell also had a successful stint in Riverdogs and Whitesnake.
