'All You Can Eat' Album Art Revealed
Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 12:02AM
You can pre-order Steel Panther's new album, All You Can Eat starting today. But first, let's discuss this album art. This is perhaps the best album cover I've seen in five years. Agree?
Special note to Bob: I'm sorry this post leaves you out in the cold. I try to always include at least a video for you. You'll just have to trust me that the humor of Steel Panther carries to their album art as well as their music.

This has the look of a Rock & Roll Masterpiece and I am rooting for it to be so. Can't wait to hear it!
Please do not even remotely say "Christians" in general would be offended
Too be honest, I was gettin' ready to blow these guys off until I saw the cover. If they can demonstrate the irony of their song titles in the lyrics, they just might get to the next level a la The Darkness the first time around.
No question, the music and the playing will be incredible. It's all about the words here -- this after I just got done expounding on puritanicality, hahaha!!!
ADDENDUM: Kenny O, okay ya got my hopes up but it looks like it's still the same ol' same ol'. But you still might be right about "Your Beautiful When You Don't Talk". That could be the satellite radio gateway they need. The album's up on iTunes for Pre-Order and the song titles are, well, the usual kind of thing they're known for. I get the shtick is meant to be offensive. The album cover is hilariously so. Still, i'm willing to hold out until I hear the whole album. If they take the songwriting to another level, regardless of the song titles. I'm all ears.
p.s. Love the fact that the release date is April 1st.
If you like the albums, fine. I do, too, just in limited doses. But the shows are where the fun happens.
You can't deny that they have talent, that they know exactly how to mimic and mock the music we love, and that they can get fans to do some odd stuff in concert.
The cover? Just another in a long line of provocative poses meant to kink PMRC-like hoses. The chances for an irony overdose are high. So, too, quite a few people at their shows.
I hope they continue to do well. Humor is good for the soul.
Bob, I got that "Double Daze" CD!
However, they do have their moments, though they are becoming more and more fewer and far between.
As the free pre-show for Aftershock this year (and they were also a day one opening act), they managed to get a lot of audience interaction. I think that lends itself to them going off script a bit more.
In fact, the differences between the pre-show and opening act schtick were informative. But it is an act either way . . . and a lot of bands would die to be in their position.
