Quiet Riot Sounding Good on Tour

The current incarnation of Quiet Riot is weaving around the country on tour. The video below was shot just a couple days ago. I'll admit, I'm impressed.

Always been a fan of Jizzy Pearl.

Just saw this Tour a couple of nights ago. Bulletboys, Faster Pussycat and QR all sounded great! Never made it in for Gilby Clarke. Only thing bad, both openers only got 30 minutes, their setlist was short and limited like 5 songs each. QR put on a full show! Longer then needed! Jizzy did sound real good doing the QR material just like on the MOR cruise.

They sound great!

But they are still a tribute band pretending to be the real thing, putting true tribute bands out if work! (I jest)

Looking forward to seeing the documentary however.

Saw em Friday at The Casino in Hampton Beach (where Im sure this vid was filmed),Gilby rocked as usual with a great version of Tijuana Jail, Bulletboys stole the show. Marq was outstanding! Faster Pussycat were..well Faster Pussycat and I was about to bail cause I saw Jizz clear out a room when he sang with RATT many moons ago,,have to admit he did a great job..the highlight on QR was watching Chuck Wright on bass,,man that guy has chops!! Great player

Man, Pearl has made a believer out of me!

Mr. Ripper, I saw OZZY with Zakk Wylde on guitar at The Paramount in 1991 with PRONG opening! Holy Sh*t, both bands were great with Wylde absolutely stealing the show by literally shredding the roof off the place!

Ripper, forgot to add... I was 4th Row!

And Snoot, I'm with ya. Pearl has long been one of my Top 10 Favorite 80's/90's Metal Singers! I consider myself SO lucky to have seen LOVE/HATE at M3 last year. And talk about the real deal... Remember when he crucified himself on the HOLLYWOOD sign?

Kixhix, I was in your camp 'til I saw this clip. Though I slept while QR played M3 (Sorry, Kev!), my ex-lead guitarist told me they absolutely killed it!

Their conviction, particularly Pearl's, may defy my reluctance to accept them as legit.

Pearls got a set of pipes on him. Criminally underrated vocalist. I'd love to have a chance to see Love Hate. He can do the Quiet Riot material, but I believe the band died with Kevin. He made Quiet Riot.

True, true... And Rhoads... And Cavazo... And Rudy Sarzo, the most successful line-up with Du Brow.

If you think about it, "Scab" doesn't really apply here because, Du Brow was the only original member in the line-up that went to #1 with "Metal Health" in 1983, the first "Metal" album to do so, in Rock & Roll History!

So what is this now, a scab of a scab band?

Though these boys are certainly gifted players with all the conviction in the world, it would be fun to see Banali get Cavazo and Sarzo back on board with Jizzy still in place.

He's got the pipes and those guys are the ingredient that would turn this into a kind of AC/DC affair where the only member of the "Classic" line-up, in both cases, would be the singer who would be replaced, should they reform.

The timing is right, if you ask me, as Cavazo is now free since RATT broke up. He was playing second fiddle when he deserves equal stage rights anyway. And Sarzo? What's he really up to? He could do it too, what the h*ll.

But it's probably Banali who would prevent it, unless he realizes they would make a lot more money with that "classic" configuration.

MB, Don't be so quick to sell current guitarist Alex Grossi short. He's got the chops to do the gig. QR has been a part of my life for 35+ years, & I'm the 1st guy to say this is a band w/ zero original members. But,in the end, Kevin left all the rights to everything QR from the Metal Health era on to Frankie B. (the rights to the "original band" of Rhoads,DuBrow,Forsythe & Garni went to original bassist Kelli Garni.) {Sarzo was his replacement after he got booted out, for pulling a gun on Rhoads in a drunken fight.} Kevin had already pre-determined that Quiet Riot should outlive him.

That absolutely kicked ass! I never realized Chuck Wright was such a monster on the bass.Dude can bring it.Him and Banali form a rock solid foundation in that clip. And Ace is 100% correct about Grossi. Guy can flat out play. (If he couldn't,he definitely wouldn't be there, because LA is littered w/ proficient guitarists).Jizz was the one that impressed me most however,as he sounds spot on during that clip. Kev would be proud of the job he did there. \m/

I'm with ya, boyz.

Still, why not get Cavazo and Sarzo back in if they're available?!
July 28, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Rudy is hardly "available". He's still out on tour w/ Geoff Tate's faux Queensryche,& even takes leave of that to tour Russia w/ "Project Rock" , which is him, Ripper Owens, Keri Kelli, James Kottak & Teddy Andreadis. He also is in the Japanese territory cartoon band Ani-Metal.

The guy definitely has plenty on his plate.

Thanks for the great info, as usual, Ace.

Sarzo is an absolute MONSTER, that's one thing for sure.

WOW, I would love to see Project Rock. Man, what a supergroup that is.

I wish he would leave Geoff Tate for Quiet Riot, however, obviously.
