New Metal Documentary Planned, You Can Help
Directed by Bob Nalbandian and produced by Metalrock Films, 'Inside Metal' features all-new interviews with countless bands and artists that thrived on the scene, and tell its story, first hand. To ensure that this killer documentary receives the attention it deserves, a fundraising campaign has been set up at WWW.METALROCKFILMS.COM - which will help strengthen the film's distribution, marketing and promotion.
This groundbreaking movie features exclusive and candid interviews with members of Metallica (Lars Ulrich), Ratt (Stephen Pearcy), Dokken (Don Dokken), Quiet Riot (Carlos Cavazo), W.A.S.P. (Chris Holmes), Megadeth (David Ellefson), Great White, (Jack Russel), Y&T, (Dave Meniketti), Stryper (Michael Sweet) and Armored Saint (Joey Vera).
Early feedback has been exceptional, including renowned video director Jonas Åkerlund (who has worked with the likes of Metallica and Ozzy) raving, "This film captures an era that catapulted metal into the spotlight and takes the audience on a wild ride down memory lane. After watching it I wanted to get in my time machine and experience those days for the first time. You’re hit with a potent nostalgia, a time I thought we couldn’t get back, not until I saw this film. I can’t get enough of this shit, what an amazing film to watch over and over again, well done!"
Metalrock Films ask - and want - real and serious metal fans to be a part of this historic documentary and spread the word that this was the scene where it all began, ground zero.
"Our Fanbacked campaign will raise the direly needed financial support to bring this film to one and all in the US and Internationally in order to pay for the marketing and promotion to get it noticed by the general public. We want to bring this film to your theatre, town, bar, club and living room! Unite and support us. We have created some one of a kind opportunities for our friends and fans to participate with us in birth of this film. Get your name on the screen and let the world know that you support metal and the bands that create it. Help us tell the story of the music you love and let the world know you love it. Join in the festivities of our, and your, accomplishments by being at the premiere of the movie and interact with the artist that participated in its creation. Commemorate your participation with a plaque, t-shirt, poster or other limited edition merchandise items that says 'Metal Rules.' Keep checking back as we add more tasty premiums."And thanks to you and your donation, 'Inside Metal' will finally get the true story of the scene heard - worldwide!

Oh, well, there's still time to have him wind up on the cutting room floor, hahaha!!!
Bob, I actually bought and still have all the key Yesterday & Today LPs and EVERY Y&T album on CD, Yesterday & Today, of course, being the band's moniker of their original pre-Hair Metal incarnation when they were pretending to be Proggish (had to override the auto-correct of "Priggish").
I like several TNT songs, namely, the stellar "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark", "Black Tiger", plus the middling but solid rest of the bunch like "Meanstreak", "Temptation", "Lipstick & Leather" and "L.A. Rocks".
Of course, I have a soft spot for their ultimate best tune, "Contagious" (with it's immortal throwaway couplet, "It's Dangerous, it's Contagerous", a nod to the songs inanity and one of THE Best Lines in an 80's L.A. Hard Rock Song.
So, Menniketi (opposite of Ducati), obviously a reasonably talented songwriter (save for the horribly annoying and saccharine "Summertime Girls"), is the consummate of sellouts when all is said and done, only exacerbated by his mild air of superiority as demonstrated on the Monsters of Rock Cruise the last couple of years, especially when I saw him talking to his teenage clone who obviously went on the cruise just to shock, not just Meniketti, but the entire passenger list who happened to cross the kid's path.
Fortunately, I managed to nearly trip the guy up while randomly whizzing past him going the other direction in one of the ship's casinos while I was on one of my usual black leather mini-skirt chasing missions.
Karma spared the horse's a*s that night but probably won't, in my case now for busting the guy's balls tonight.
In the end, Meniketti is nothing more than a delivery boy of Corporate Mediocre Metal that, ultimately, failed to go anywhere except for the sacred collections of fat f*cks that look very similar to him and myself, who used to look like him until I lost 50 lbs. for the 4th time right before I went on said Rock Cruise earlier this year.
Syonara, Metalboy!

Heck, even their bid to get into rotation, "Summertime Girls," has a way of boring into your ear-hole. See what I did there, Metalboy!? I used a word one way so you could use it the other way. Might as well be courteous.
and, as for "Summertime Girls", if you faulted every band for selling out in '85 and '86, you'd have to fault 80% of the bands in the genre.
Thanks for explaining your position Metalboy! (and congrats on the weight loss). Still siding with Bob on this one though. My experiences seeing them over the years, while not as up close as yours on most occasions, have been quite enjoyable. Though I give you this: "Contagious" is one hell of a song.
