Order Now: Kix 'Rock Your Face Off'
KIX is finally out with their first album of new material in, well, forever. Rock Your Face Off was officially released yesterday and the album is already blowing up the Amazon top seller list! You need to do your part to help KIX too, so make sure you hit up Amazon or iTunes and buy the record - it's like only $8 bucks. I haven't had enough time with the songs to do a proper review, so that will come in due time. For now, you can check out a full album stream on Loudwire.
Imagine my surprise when I saw that Stereogum picked Rock Your Face Off as album of the week. Of course the snobs in the comments section didn't appreciate the pick or the awesomeness that is KIX but I think you guys know what you need to do: get thee to Stereogum and school the hipsters!

I've got that Fiona album (Geez, Beau Hill sure married right!), and I will check out "Life On The Moon".
Okay, so according to The Real Arc of Glam Metal History, then doesn't that make Big Bang Babies "Everybody Needs A Hero", which I LOVE, by the way, a clear descendent (to the point of plagiarism) of Janie's "Big Talk"?
p.s. I actually view "Big Talk" as one of Lane's more adventurous compositions aside from "Down Boys", etc.
Rock Your Face Off, indeed!
Can't Get Enough!!!
p.s. Went over to Stereogum (Kudos to them for making this Album of the Week)... What a bunch of narcissistic, self-absorbed, clueless braindead, save for a few intelligent comments, pro and con. I can't believe the dissin', especially when it comes from some of the most UNROCK specimens to ever roam the earth. Seriously... SPOON? Not even in the same ballpark. Not even in the same universe!
Play Warrant's "Big Talk" back to back with Big Bang Babies' "Everybody Needs A Hero".
Those two songs sound uncannily similar to me.
Ironically, Warrant are now in the same sinking PBF boat...
The only one that could write, Jani.. has left & died.
They are up the same creek of being without a writer... What will they do? Buy tunes? "Borrow" tunes? or just continue covering Jani's material?
I know you're not wild about Steve Summers, but where is he in all of this? Maybe he should start a Motley Crue cover band, since he made a career out of aping Vince Neil while in Pretty Boy Floyd.
p.s. Keep in mind, though I fully realize "Leather Boys With Electric Toys" was highly derivative including outright theft, I still hold the album up as an icon of Glam Metal, even if it does need an asterisk after it on any list.

Metalboy!: I'm not comparing the overall body of work from Kix and the AOR kings (your words) Night Ranger. Only comparing the most recent releases. It is of my opinion that the Night Ranger record is better. Probably their best output. Maybe give it a spin.
Maybe I was expecting more from Kix. Maybe unrealistically. The new record just didn't do it for me. Others will disagree. In the grand scheme, my opinion means nothing.
I've listened again. My opinion has not changed. But good for Kix.
I am being the typical jackass that I am by saying this kinda stuff without listening to the entire new Night Ranger album. I will listen to it, my friend.
And I will continue rocking to the new KIX.
And I will keep looking for your opinion, as I respect it, especially when we agree, hahaha!!!, which, if you look at all of our comments in totality, is more often than not! Rock On, my Metal Brethren!
