Lenny Kravitz Joins Katy Perry For Super Bowl

Katy Perry will perform at this year's Super Bowl half time show. Last night, she announced that Lenny Kravitz would join her for the performance. Personally, I'm looking forward to him more than her. The Super Bowl takes place February 1.

Major Rock & Rollers, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Who, Aersosmith, ZZ Top, and Slash have all performed during halftime.
Other acts of note are Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Diana Ross, the aforementioned Madonna, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Prince, Sting, Tina Turner, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, No Doubt, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Tom Petty, P. Diddy, U2 and Kid Rock.
There have been others, and to BK's point, until 1993, when ratings went through the roof with Michael Jackson, the NFL did not understand the power of retaining top talent for halftime.
Though Katie Perry with Kravitz (I bet she adds others), may not be your cup of tea, they're a lot better than last year and countless other years. It will, no doubt, be an epic event, regardless of one's personal taste.
AC/DC should have been booked a long time ago.
And they'd be so perfect now, as you said, with "Play Ball", "Hell's Bells", "Thunderstruck" and "Back In Black" as the obvious choices in the set list, as those are the most commonly played in the stadiums.
As soon as AC/DC would start playing, the crowd in the stadium, even having never seen what they look like, would go crazy for them, once they realized how many times they've heard their songs before as the soundtrack for all their favorite football memories.
Just shows you how the decision makers at the NFL have in common with those of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Both bodies don't know their a*ses from third base!
p.s. Knowing how the NFL operate, Pepsi is paying Katie Perry as evident in her Pepsi sponsored Halftime Show promos. And they'll slip Kravitz some chump change, too.
