KIX. Live. 1991.

Picture it: Maryland. Hammerjacks. 1991. KIX are at their apex and just so tight live together on stage. A couple of days ago the amazing clips below popped up on YouTube. Be thankful.

You should've seen 'em 10 years before that!

These videos are you need to see to tell the story of the famed Hammerjacks! Plus Kix is really amazing on stage right here! What a great set of videos!

And in the first video at around 10:25 when they all slam into each other at the end of "Same Jane" was awesome!

Saw them in 89 open for Great White and Tesla at SDSU on the rail. Very tight group they were riding high on the success of Don't Close Your Eyes. Great Show.

Saw them in around '90 opening for the Brian Howe-lead version of Bad Company. A great night of music all around.

I was there! And I saw them many times in '81 upon the release of their first album and nearly every year following until 1992, nearly 30 times!

And I saw them many times in the Baltimore area as Shooze and The Generators before they transformed into The God*amn Kix Band!

I have seen 'em probably 13 times subsequent to original leader Donnie Purnell's unceremonious departure for a grand total of 43+ times including just a few months ago at the 80's In The Park Festival where they proceeded to blow the doors and roof off the place.

FYI-- As per Allyson's post just a few days ago bringing us Rolling Stone's Top 50 Greatest Hair Metal Albums of All Time List with KIX coming in at #8, one under Faster Pussycat's self-titled debut, which is crazy.
