Aw! They blew the gag when they revealed the pillow to early! This would could have actually been funny if he pulled the pillow out from nowhere and placed it on the couch to the family's awkward silence. I bet it was in the original storyboard but the client f*cked with it. As they say in showbiz, it's all in the editing, folks!

Though his exploits are much more limited, Herr Michaels would do well to learn the lessons of two polar opposites: Gene Simmons and Micheal Kors. Branding, like publicity, does have its limits (there is such a thing as bad regarding both).

As to the latter, if you start up-market and go down, you whittle away your ethos and tank your ability to claim uniqueness. If the former, you operate in a tight space with limited margins, margins which grow smaller as your pop culture trinkets sell out to the public that wanted them and there remains no other market willing to consider them.

Everyone knows caveat emptor. Michaels would do well to consider caveat venditor.
