M3 2015 Set Times Announced

M3 Rock Festival goes down this weekend in Columbia, Maryland. That's a suburb of Baltimore and I hope everything in that city calms down immediately. If you're headed toward M3, I hope you have a great time. I was kind of bummed I wasn't going... and then Baltimore exploded last night and honestly I'm kind of glad I decided to skip the festival.

If more people would listen to the bands from M3 there would be peace, harmony & party time rock n roll!!!!

But no.

PSA: I have four (4) floor seats (6th row) and will be leaving the pavilion after warrant's set, as I'm not into QR or Europe and want a good spot for Keifer, therefore, I'll look for people on the lawn with QR shirts and Europe shirts, to hand off my tickets to, so that you can see 'your" bands up close. see you at M3....peace.

Having seen most of these bands umpteen times (save for Krokus and Europe), I'm starting to feel like M3 is the landlubber's version of The Monsters of Rock Cruise.

It's getting a bit "samey" as the Brits would say, the equivalent of an 80's Hard Rock Traveling Circus with virtually the same acts doing the same thing night after night.

Thankfully, it finally looks like their going to get some "new" blood injected into this freak show with MORC getting the likes of Kingdom Come, now rumored Junkyard and most likely Britny Fox back on the scene. So, if M3 Xeroxes MORC's Poster and slaps "M3" on it as they damn near did this year, I won't mind it for a change.

Nice quality control..."Dio's Deciples". WTF?

At least they didn't put "The KIX."

Such a bummer Trixter only gets 30 minutes and an early slot before a couple of what are essentially cover bands.

You guys complaining about M3 don't know how good you have it. Fun festivals like this never come to the West coast. Instead we get hipster d'bag fests like Coachella.

well said, Bob...and I ain't complaining. Actually, I want others to enjoy their favorite band up-close and personal, too, that's why I'm looking to [pay it] forward by giving my tix away after warrant. I've always appreciated it when others did this for me.

as far as MB's comment, I'll reply in the M3 spirit of Tom Keifer, "The more things change..."

Give peace a chance! Imagine! and Let it be...

and, if I'm not mistaken...I believe the events went like this: Rocklahoma 1, then M3, then MORC.

Europe headlining on Friday? Give me a break! LA Guns dwarfs all those other bands on that day. For some reason, they never get the slot they deserve.

I agree, BK... L.A. Guns is certainly a much better band than Queensryche and Warrant, though not Krokus or Europe, Bro, simply because their line-ups are more original, not because their music is necessarily better, though Krokus' version of "Ballroon Blitz" is frickin' kicka*s and "The Final Countdown", "Rock The Night" and "Carrie" win on a Global scale as some of the cheesiest of cheese ever committed to magnetic reel-to-reel tape!

Krokus still sounds really good live. Storace's voice still sounds surprisingly good for his age. Please excuse me flipping the nostalgia switch for a minute, but one of the best concerts I ever saw was a double bill of Krokus and sammy Hagar back in 1984. What an incredible night! Krokus was touring "the Blitz" and Hagar was touring "VOA."

Is it common for festivals in the US to end so early? Bands play long after midnight at Sweden Rock for instance.

To answer Snoot's question, if I remember correctly, there is some kind of ordinance in Columbia, MD (where M3 takes place) that requires the shows to be complete by 11:00. Kind of lame, but it is what it is.

Just to comment a little on Krokus and Europe.....I just saw both of them twice on the MOR cruise. I wasn't really excited about seeing Europe, but it was a killer show. Their new stuff is pretty solid. As for Krokus, it was really good too. I was a disappointed that I walked out of 2 shows scratching my head because they did not play "Our Love", "Midnight Maniac", "Stay awake all night" or "Ballroom Blitz" at either show. Kind of strange in my opinion, but it was still good.

Me and my crew are traveling to the show and we are all very excited. The lineup is stellar. We are all stoked to see bands like Europe and Krokus and Tyketto for the first time. My only gripe on the slots/stages is that Tom Keifer on the side stage, even as headliner, feels criminal. Tom deserves main stage!

Also, BKallday, LA Guns are very good. But they play so many shows, and they change members so often, that they have become sort of a sideshow. ITheir slot is correct and deserved. Hell, I'd even argue that they should be before Vixen.

I am in no way knocking LAG. I bet, without any exaggeration, that I have seen LAG in concert, in all the different incarnations and versions, near 40 times. And they were good if not great 95% of the time. But I will also say their set list has gotten boring and predictable in the last 2 years.
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterKenny Ozz
Yeah, and Europe's setlist is so relevant, i suppose. What, do they play Carrie 10 times, then the final countdown 10 more? Those were their only 2 hits, and that was damn near 30 yrs ago. It's all personal opinion but Krokus and Europe being better than a legit band like LA Guns, shows just how sappy some ppl are, and is also complete crap. Imho of course.

BF! Whoa, Bro! The cheese factor is part of Europe's "charm". Just realize, I'm laughing as much as I'm applauding when it comes to Europe!
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
BF? Whoa! Sorry, BK! Frickin' keyboard!
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
As far as L.A. Guns goes, I think they are killer, now, more than in years. This is their best line-up since Tracii. Grant is far more superior, so much more flash than anyone else that's been in the role except for Gunns.
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
p.s. And, WTH! Did you say you saw Krokus twice on this past MORC and both times, they didn't play "Balroom Blitz"? Geez, that should be how they open their first set!
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Europe has 6 hits. The Final Countdown, Carrie, Rock the Night, Cherokee, Superstitious, and Open Your Heart. Some could argue that LA Guns has one. Like I said, I love em, but theyre a bar band. Dont insult Europe and Krokus by saying LAG is in their class.
April 29, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterKenny Ozz
Hahaha!!!, Kenny O! I know there's no touchin' Europe but doncha think L.A. Guns gives Krokus a run for their money?
