Phil Collen and Delta Deep Releases New Song

Phil Collen of Def Leppard is gearing up for some busy times with his side project called Delta Deep. The blues band does originals and all sorts of cover songs from a wide variety of acts. Delta Deep will release its self-titled debut next week. To support that album, the band went ahead and released the track "Private Number." This is definitely something different and interesting from Collen.

Boy, this guy really should come up with better band names! Manraze and Delta Deep are as dumb as they come!

Dumb band name aside, I really dig the tune! I wouldn't mind at all listening to more of that.

You can find more "watered down, fake blues" stuff all over the net if you want more.

Jat, who said I thought it was blues? If anything, it has more of a blue-eyed soul feel to me. that's the main problem I have with the band name -- it implies that they play deep delta blues when, at least going by that song, that isn't what they do at all. If you take away the expectation that the band name wrongly implies, and just listen to the song for what it is, it's not bad at all.
