Motley Crue At Sweden Rock: Video

Motley Crue played the Sweden Rock Festival at the beginning of the month. I read some reviews online... and they weren't good. Still, I kept an open mind. The guys are not 21 anymore, so they're allowed a few mistakes here and there. Well, I watched a video clip of the set... and it was pretty rough. Vince really struggled during "Primal Scream." You can tell the tour is wearing his voice down for sure. He's been skipping the words for years now, but the clip below is way worse than when I saw them back in November. Yikes.

They don't even remotely resemble the band that played the Starwood & the Whiskey... there's no life left in it... This is purely going thru the motions , for the paycheck. Sheesh, tuning 4 steps down just so Vince can come close to being in key? New Years Eve can't come soon enough....
The day Rob sounds bad, I will be totally surprised. I'm in awe of his vocals every time I hear him. Maybe it was just an off day?
All of the extra dates they've added to this tour is just going to make that final show they play just a complete horrendous mess.
If Vince sounds like this now imagine him 6 months from now...Yikes!
I always wanted them to record the final show & release it on DVD but lately...
I don't know if it would be really cool to have or really sad to see.
I still love Vince but the Crue should have never toured every single year since they got back together in 2005.
Vince was pretty decent back then compared to now but even then I would have never thought they should keep touring for pretty much a decade straight.
All of this excessive touring has really destroyed Vince's voice at a extremely alarming rate.
This final tour could have been pretty sweet, had Nikki not kept booking all of these tours over the years (w/no new CD to promote in the past 7 years).
Vince would have sounded a lot better.
For The Record:
Vince Neil from 1981 to 1998 is/was hands down my favorite glam metal vocalist, live & in the studio.
He was always on fire to me.
It wasn't until the Maximum Rock tour in 1999 that Vince's vocals for me started to become lackluster.
Vince Neil is going to be on the TV show Wife Swap tonight on ABC!

18 Years ago today Motley Crue released the 'Generation Swine' CD!
For me...the last truly great Motley Crue CD.
I still remember vividly as a teenager counting down the days til this CD was released & buying it as soon as the store opened the morning of it's release.
(Also seeing them preform "Shout 97" at the American Music Awards that year)
Most of my friends at the time were not Motley fans but 'Generation Swine' converted several of them into becoming Motley fans.
I still love (& play) 'Generation Swine' just as much today if not more.
Truth be told:
It's extremely hard for me to pick a #1 favorite Crue album.
The first 7 studio albums released by them on any given day could easily be my #1 favorite album by them (it all just depends on my mood at the moment I guess?)
To me Motley Crue was perfection from 'Too Fast For Love' up to 'Generation Swine'!
And you're right about Vince. There are a lot of guys in music his age who have taken care of themselves. Look at the guys in Steel Panther for example. Satchel is in awesome shape and he's only a few years younger than Vince. Yes, we all get older but it doesn't mean you should stop looking after yourself.
My friend translated the Stockholm newspaper's review of the show for me, and the author basically said that if Motley Crue were his dog, he'd take them to the vet and have them put down.
Anyone else notice in the beginning, there's an audible bass line being played, but when they show Nikki, both hands are in the air clapping?!
I heard from a lot of locals that they were pissed since SRF was advertised as Motley's final Scandinavian performance, yet during the show, Vince announced they'd be back to Stockhom in November. What a load of crap! The continual adding of dates, especially in cities they've already played on this tour is really taking the sparkle out of the concept of a "final" tour.
I had seriously considered going to LA for the New Year's Eve show, but after seeing them at SRF, I may just put that idea to bed.
