Mick Mars Working On New Album
Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 12:01AM
Mick Mars didn't waste any time in his post Motley Crue life. He's been in the studio a lot since the Crue wrapped their farewell tour. Notice anyone familiar in that photo below? Yes, it's John Corabi. I find this fascinating and exciting that Mars and Corabi are working together again. I can't wait for that new music!
Blackbird studio yesterday. Dave Natale, John McBride,(owner) another John, & me. What a great great time I'm havin creating new, fresh, greasy LOUD ASS,slamming music.

He's about to prove Crüe could have put out a legit parting album if Sixx sought his collaboration for such an endeavor.
Now Sixx AND Neil, who was quoted as saying singles are what people want, not albums, can listen to one that will look like the reason "All BAD things must come to an end"... Yeah, all "bad" things, as in the lack of "collaboration" Gary alludes to.
And, it's so great he pulled in Corabi... It's like Mars is picking up where the Crüe '94 album left off. After years of toiling away in virtual anonymity (except for us and a few more Metal Soldiers, now Corabi can shine again. Even if he does act like a d*ck sometimes, the guy deserves it. That will be some nice humble pie for Neil. Ha! Finally, something Neil won't have an appetite for.
My hope is this album is so killer, it gets nominated for Grammys, including the "Best Hard Rock & Metal" category. And let's pray to The Metal Gods it's so phenomenal, I'll be gluing it to my turntable.
Dont know what they talk about
I want my music waking up the dead
Dont tell me to turn it down
Turn it down
For the record, my comments are based on how those d*cks have acted toward others, not myself.
I could care less if someone is an a*s toward me.
It's when they act like d*cks toward others who have done nothing wrong that makes me think negatively about them.
1) In the case of TESLUG... First off, with the exception of like three songs, they are boring, middle of the road and take themselves way too seriously. My personal observations about how they treat others... Frank Hambone was in the Sushi restaurant and asked to be reseated because he's "a musician and doesn't want to be recognized.", as if anyone cares.
Meanwhile Vince Neil, who's also known as a world class jacka*s, was in the restaurant along with that clown from Sevenf*cks and could have cared less if they were recognized. Speaking of Neil, right before he went on,
I watched the entire band of Teslug, including Jeff Keith's nanny, be seated together by security, who asked a couple to move so the group could all sit next to each other. Then, three songs into Neil's show, they all got up and left together in a clear snub to Neil. There was no way Neil could have not seen 'em do it. It was an entourage of 11 people.
I've talked to Keith several times and once told him he's a killer singer after he performed "Highway To Hell" with Cinderella & Friends (led by Corabi, by the way).
But that doesn't excuse Keith for when I saw him act like Mr. Bigshot when he came to one of Faster Pussycat's performances on The Monsters of Rock Cruise. He was accompanied by two security guys and had them move people out of the way so he could get a closer view of the band.
I guess that's because he's Rock Royalty and those fans who payed good money to be on the cruise and got to Faster Pussycat's show early to get their spots aren't as important as he is. F*ck you!
As far as Corabi goes, I've met him several times on MORC and he's been an absolute prince to me everytime. He took it as a compliment when I told him he's such a bad*ss singer he ought to call his band CORABI in chrome letters. The dude even kissed me on the cheek (yuck!) after I mentioned how great I thought that Scream album is.
But that doesn't give him a pass for being occasionally rude or condescending toward fans, a trait for which he's even been named "Crabby". Regardless, I wish him well because he can sing his a*s off and deserves to be heard on a higher level than the years since Crüe he's spent grinding it out on the club circuit.
So, Jack Badlands, beat up on Metalboy! for not being an unconditional starf*cker like you, willing to look the other way when others are treated poorly as long as it's not you. I've had drinks with the likes of Brian Connolly of Sweet (RIP), Johnny Ramone (RIP), David Lee Roth, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Tommy Lee, Junkyard, Janie Lane, The Cult, CORABI, Steve Stevens, The Quireboys, Chip Z'nuff, Jeff LeBar, Joe Leste, Scott Ian (horses a*s), Michael Grant (L.A. Guns), Courtney Cox (Iron Maidens), even had lunch with Stryper and have met countless others. Many of them even bought me drinks. All were great conversationalists and genuinely interested in what I had to say.
But if I ever saw them being as*holes to someone, I'd think less of them, just the way I think less of TESLUG and anyone else who portray themselves as superior human beings to fans.
But still, I'm really excited to see what Mick comes out with, it's gonna be new, fresh, and killer. Really anticipating this one.
Saw him live (posted the review here) and it was an amazing set.
Met him in person and it was one of those moments that felt planned (scroll down if you have read this before). I was standing with my friend and pointed to Corabi who was standing a few feet away. Told my friend how much I enjoyed his singing, esp. on The Crue album. Said friend is more of a mainline Crue fan and didn't really know who he was/is. Said to me, "go up and say hi." I replied something to the effect of "Hell no, what the heck would I say to a guy like that?!!?" A bit of a star struck moment, I must confess. Little did I know that, as I was talking to my friend another person in our group (who knew Corabi) motioned for him to come over. Behind my back, without me knowing, he overheard what I was saying to my friend. He tapped me on my shoulder and said with a smile, "You mean me?" I almost lost it. Corabi took pictures with me and my friend (the mighty Him II). Made my concert.
And Mars? Not much I can say. I am no guitarist, so this might strike those of you who are proficient at the instrument as off or wrong or strange. But I was always fascinated by how much he was able to wring out of repetition. Of course, some of that has to do with the band as a whole. But I would find myself just listening to the guitar, amazed that it sounded so simple and somehow fit so perfectly.
Mars _and_ Corabi?!!? That can't be bad, even if it is a song or two. Heck, just put MC in big bold chrome letters and take that show out on the road. I'd be there in a heartbeat.
Glad to hear Mars is creating right from jump. Can't wait to hear the final product.
