Here Come The Commercials

Super Bowl 50 is just a few days away, ya'll. That means the commercials are coming. Surely music from some our beloved bands will be featured. Case in point: Acura has already released an ad for their NSX - featuring my favorite Van Halen song "Runnin' With the Devil."

DLR can't sing? But Acura is using his VOICE and his VOICE alone in a $5 million commercial. Kudos to DLR. unabashed showman.

Kudos to whoever dreamt up this stunning hyper graphic commercial at MullenLowe, Acura's ad agency.

Having the idea to sample the song for Diamond Dave's hoops and hollers in exultation of the new NSX rather than just go for the song straight up as most commercials typically do is pure genius!

And, of course, the subtle pay off, "WHAT HE SAID" in a fresh, cool typeface is the cherry on top that ties it all together, instead of having some voiceover at the end blather a cliché ad slogan.

No need for chrome lettering here when you've got such a gleaming piece of Heavy Metal on display like this baby either.

Haha!!, Oper8n. If you watch the commercial again closely, you'll see Acura literally has NSX cast in chrome lettering right into the engine!
