Quiet Riot Announces New Singer

Seann Nicols, formerly of Adler's Appetite, is now the new singer of Quiet Riot. I used the Blabbermouth embed below so you could see the new band photo.

The Quiet Riot reboots are hard for me, but this time it's a little more interesting because the band is actually working on new music. A new album will come out in early 2017 via Frontiers.

Mr. Banali, meet Mr. Lee. Jake, Frankie. Frankie, Jake. Clearly there are differences between Very Little Riot and Red Cancel Cartel. One is led by the guitarist. The other is led by the drummer. Neither is Knobby "The Blotz" Blotzer. Sweet luck.

No issue with making a living. Some issues with how one goes about "celebrating" a legacy of which one was a (non-original) part. Perhaps if he was more honest about the former taking precedence, people would be less inclined to slag on him when he makes tissue-thin (and thinning) references to the latter. Perhaps not. Besides, Mr. DuBrow (RIP) did enough bridge-burning to last (and outlast) several lifetimes.

I apologize for double posting. But, as I often do, I went to seek out more info on this situation (I mean, who doesn't want to know what Jizzy Pearl is doing? Leading a new version of 10cc? The Loving Spoonful? A Pearl Jam cover band? Nope. Solo.).

This one had my "press releases are written for filling space" nerves spazzing out: "Frankie Banali, an original member of the 1982 Metal Health classic line up." That is a magical sentence. I mean, I get it. I am no origins purists. You really can't be in this day and age. And I know no one is clamoring for Drew Forsyth to return to the kit. Who? I have no idea (Ace??). He doesn't even merit a link on Wikipedia. And I checked, because I never have heard of him before.

But an "original" member of the "classic" line-up is just word pudding. That's like saying "I am the original sex partner in the classic lineup of this person's sexual history." High-fives and eye-rolls all around, I guess. It also underscores my first post. When you need to reach for credibility, you sprain more than credulity.

LMFAO Him!!! Especially at "Knobby Blotzer" (instant classic) and the soon to be classic "I mean, Who doesn't want to know what Jizzy Pearl is up to"? I'm thinking The Jizz man should form a band with Dizzy Reed and Lizzy Borden. Maybe call it "Jizzy,Lizzie & Dizzy Get Busy".

As for Banali's creative thinking/word salad, I guess that means anybody who has rubbed one out looking at a Playboy as a teenager has therefore had sex with a Playmate. And If that's the case, I had sex with more Playmates from the ages of 13-15 than Hugh Hefner had in his life....( insert rim shot from Banali or Knobby on drums here) LMFAO

Him... Drew was an exceptional drummer, *jazz/swing trained, UCLA grad. And the best drummer Quiet Riot ever had. DuBrow made an idiot move to dis & dump him... (Non musical differences... Kevin just got pissy when the girl he wanted, hooked up with Drew instead.) but that didn't stop Kevin from slagging him off on a musical level.. A douche-move that Frankie B. has now perfected to a T.

I'll say one thing... re: Drew's abilities... "If he was good enough to play with Randy Rhoads, He was good enough to play with anybody else.". Period.

Drew left the music business, moved to Hawaii, did REALLY well in real estate, & owns about 1/3 the island of Kauai.

I played many a show opening for Love/Hate... I'll check in w/ Jizzy & see what he says about this. He ALMOST lasted 3 whole years... Missed it by 2 months. That's a lifetime in Quiet Riot replacement singer years.
Hahaha!!!, Gary! That last paragraph is just TOO DAMN FUNNY! You should write lyrics for Steel Panther!

As for the subject at hand, Very Little Riot (very funny, too, HIM!), I am actually glad to see Pearl is out. I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky I saw Love/Hate a few years back at M3 and I wish Jizzy all the best and hope he can have artistic success as a solo act.

And, on the topic of Quiet Riot, this has really gone beyond a joke. I guess I should listen to the new album before passing final judgement. I mean, what if it's actually good?! THAT really would lend credence to HIM's assessment of SCAB bands taking on some form of legitimacy.

I'm torn here. I think Jizzy is awesome, and he sounded good in QR, (check out the tune "Bang for Your Buck", but I also think he is better than being in scab QR, so I do hope he is successful. speaking of Jizzy, a new album full of old Love/Hate demos from the mid 80s is coming out soon. Now *that*, I definitely will buy.

Me, too, Bob! I will definitely check out the Love/Hate demos album.

FYI, I just downloaded a Roxx Gang demos album off iTunes. I assume it's available elsewhere. You should check it out if you have not already done so. That guitarist totally BURNS!

Ace! Yes! I must have just missed reading your comments until now as we most likely posted virtually simultaneously.

Thank you for your peak under the tent of Quiet Riot. Amazing to learn from you about Drew Forsyth's success as a real estate magnate in Hawaii, especially considering how Du Brow hosed him.

Thanks Guys. QR, especially the original version is like family to me.
Drew isn't the only one Kevin hosed... All 3 of the members besides KDB in the "DuBrow" band, Drew, Bassist Gary VanDyke, & guitarist Greg Leon all got stiffed as Kevin became more of an "All For Me" sort of guy... Greg especially since a handful of tunes like "Party All Night" was musically written by Greg (was originally the tune "Keep On Rollin' ", and "You Hold The Key" and a batch of that era's tunes that those guys did not get the credit or $$$$ they deserve. And of course, Frankie's "Now You're Here..." movie skirted over them in 1.2 seconds.

Shame on Du Brow. Here I was giving the guy a pass when he passed away as he seemed to have mended the fences with Cavazo, Banali and Sarzo and still had a great voice.

While there's no question, the guy was a super talented singer with one of the ballsiest voices out there, there's no doubt where he wound up in the afterlife.

Late to reply, but I will state it: thanks Ace for setting me straight. Always appreciate your take on things. You show us what we never saw. What you lived. A book, Sir. A book.
