Listen To New SIXX: A.M. Track 'Barbarians'

SIXX: A.M. has a new track out now called "Barbarians." It's on Vol. 2, Prayers For The Blessed which comes out November 18. The song is pretty good but it actually doesn't sound like SIXX: A.M. to me. It's not heavy in the metal sense, but I'm not sure how to describe it. Chuggy, maybe? What do you think?

Good start with a heavy beat, powerful rhythm, veered into Mudvayne for a drag or two and finished out alright. Geesh. Lighten up, people!

And, Ally, I have no idea what "chuggy" means.

Meh. Not loving it. And I think I'm one of the few around here who really likes SIXX AM. I agree, Ally, doesn't really sound like them.

"Chuggy" = overly compressed, so there is no actually definition, amateurish 8th notes bass plunking... It give you a slush of non-descript low end thud, hiding the fact that even after 35 years, Sixx is still at the musical skill level of a bassist who just took up the instrument 6 months ago. It's lazy, & he's actually better than this. At one time, he could, at least write a catchy hook.

I think the expression on the gargoyle in the frame grab of the video says it all! B-O-R-E-D! That's what Sixx probably is AND that's what I would probably be if I clicked on the arrow.

Seriously, what is with this guy? Like Ace says (and he would know), the man could really write a catchy hook. Why doesn't he stop mailing it in and get down to what we know he's capable of? Answer: Too lazy and obviously TOO BORED!
