Asking Alexandria, 'The Black' Out Today

PSA: Asking Alexandria are out with a new album called The Black today. I pre-ordered it so I've already got about half the album in digital format. This is the first AA album with new singer Denis Stoff. I'm really pleased with the tracks I've listened to so far. Denis has a great clean voice and AA keeps expanding on their metalcore sound that I happen to love.

When he isn't trying to sound like his nards are being stomped on by Rosie O'Donnell,this guy has a decent voice. The whole dropped tuned,extremely over effected guitar thing still does nothing for me personally,but it's now almost "de rigueur" for the nu metal movement. I'd like to steal some of these guys pedal boards to see how they'd sound with just a guitar and amp,no effects except the distortion that the amp offers. Clean up their signal chain so to speak. Lol

Amen guys. Glad I'm not the only one! I always joke that I may the last guitarist on the planet that doesn't own a single pedal. Lol. I run my guitar straight to my amp. That's it. If the amp doesn't have it, I don't use it. To me anyway, they (pedals) kind of make you lazy,as in they're very forgiving in covering up mistakes. Plus I'm positive if I were to buy one, I'd own 57 of them within a few months and turn into exactly what I'm bitching about. Lmao But to each his own. As long as your having fun while you're playing, it doesn't matter how you're getting there. Be it a guitar,patch cord and amp like me, or a chain of $5000 worth of "toys", rock on! \m/

Never really got into these guys, although their last record I thought was pretty good. There's a ton of newer metal bands I like, but these guys ain't doin it for me.
