It's Happening: Poison and Def Leppard To Tour

Poison and Def Leppard will tour together in 2017. Poison frontman Bret Michaels broke the news during an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune. Poison hasn't done a full tour since 2012. I can't believe Def Leppard is going back out on the road again next summer, but hey, more power to them. I wonder if it will be a co-headline run? Maybe the bands will switch off each night.

I'll definitely be going to this tour if it comes near me. Now I'm kind of glad I skipped Def Leppard in Cincinnati earlier this month. What do you think?

H-U-U-U-G-E!!!

At last, just when we thought American Glam Metal was pretty much D.O.A., one of The REAL Big Four Reanimates!

Poison carries the torch! Maybe Michaels woke up when he saw all the $$$ Gn'R are hauling in. Even if it's just a fraction of that, it'll probably be more than he would be making as he continues his solo slow suicide.

Now, if Poison would just put out a new album the way Def Leppard did. And if we could just get Cinderella and RATT back, though I honestly believe that will never happen, as it's pretty obvious they've gone the way of Motlëy Crüe.

I'm definitely on for this tour...

Here's to Brett Michaels, for finally coming to his senses and taking a shot at redemption with the willingness to Bring Back Glam! at least one more time!

p.s. Al -- It's pretty safe to say Def Leppard will headline and Poison will open. It's all about the numbers... Def Leppard's the bigger draw. Still, Poison is the reason I'll be going plus the fact Joe Elliot's voice is getting better and better!

I don't think there's any doubt that Def Leppard will headline, each & every night of this .

I'm pretty much over concerts. If there's no new album, I don't care.

How did Ratt go the same way as the Crue? The Crue never had two factions, and they were always at least 75% intact. So really it makes no sense, other than the basic fact that you were trying to rag on Motley and put them at Ratt's level(which is absolutely hilarious in itself). Nice try but it makes no sense to me.

Def Leppard is still great live, so I will be going!

BK, RATT is NOT on the same level as Crüe, which is why I always put them BELOW Crüe on my list. What I am saying is they quit just like Crüe. However you want to cut it, they went the way of The Crüe, albeit less ceremoniously.

I'm just glad to see a band of the genre back where we can see 'em instead the scab version that is back where we can see 'em instead of the SCAB version that is Brett Michaels solo, which is frickin' HORRIBLE!

And while we're at it, C.C. Deville blows Phil Colleen and Vivian Campbell off the stage!

Awesome news! Poison is a summertime party band. Def will close, each will play about 90 minutes. Poison should take the next 6 months and release 2-3 tunes & hope they strike "Talk Dirty/'Nothin But A Good Time" party gold. But no money in those odds so Bret will probably use the time to sell the Bret Michaels Grill or wig straightener on QVC.

They still have 2 touring versions, performing mostly Ratt tunes, how are the two even related? Aside from the same genre of course. Crue retired as a band with Vince performing some Crue tunes by himself, but there is no one else touring and performing Crue songs. I just don't see it at all.

BKALLDAY, you are absolutely correct! Ripper likes Ratt, and they did quit! Crue retired big difference. Rip cant see the comparison that metal BOY is trying to connect. On the Poison news, they have been a bore fest the last 5 tours! Same exact set list every damn time. YAWN! 🙏🏻 mix it up for gods sake. Side note- Saw Brett at waffle house years ago, he was giving the waitress an earful because his eggs were over cooked. Acting like a complete Douche nozzle! Shame, He always comes off so sincere, maybe he was having an off day!

So now I get to watch the same set list that Bret Michaels hawk at all the county fairs played with the original members ?

When's the last time Poison headlined a tour ?

Sure, Rippone, as if Brett Michaels was ever in a Waffle House. Let's compare polygraphs of your supposed observation of Michaels and my actual eyewitness account of Frank Hambone laying a self-entitled "special treatment" superiority trip on the maitré d on Shipf*cked!

And if you want an additional eyewitness, just ask Dana Strum who was laughing at him just like I was. And I quote, "I need to move my table because I'm a musician and I don't want anyone to see me."

How about, "Who gives a f*ck?!" or just simply ask to be moved.

I'll believe it when I see it. Ol Bandanna Boy is more full of shit than a port-o-let at a Mexican Festival on Taco Tuesday

Relax metal BOY RIpper believes your story! Seems I struck a nerve. Ripper witnessed in person Michaels behaving badly at the waffle house in Florida about 2 years ago. Hey the man likes his eggs his way! Ripper wasnt even talking about Hannon so pump yo brakes Pal. I will confirm your story next time Rip runs into Strum. Your welcome to check my story with the poor waitress, believe her name was Vera.

Best news I have read all day ... If it's true. Bret's been known to blab out stuff like this well before it's signed, sealed and delivered. I kind of wish it was Poison + not Def Leppard only because it will be Lep's third summer run in a row so how much draw is left? But I do get it, I couldn't name another "glam" band Poison could go out with doing amphitheaters as an opener. It would have to be a 3-4 band bill with the likes of Cinderella, Skid Row, etc. Regardless, Poison's my favorite band so I will go. Any bets on whether we will get any "deep cuts" in the 11 song set list, ha ha.

I completely get it. Def Leppard is the M.D. Poison is content being the Physician's Assistant. Poison doesn't need to be top dog...just on the bill, supporting the headliner and making some money without all the hassIes and worry. I tried that route a few years ago with metalboy! and got screwed and then threw it all away. I'll be Donnie Purnell...being content doing what I'm doing. Like the knife that cuts you...the wound heals, but that scar, the scar remains.

And, in the scheme of things, I'm bigger and better than I ever was before. That's Life!
