SIXX: AM Release Lyric Video For 'Prayers For The Damned'

A few days ago, SIXX: AM released the lyric video for the track "Prayers For The Damned." The song is pretty good, probably the strongest on the album of the same name. Everything SIXX: AM produces is so dark... I swear I think Nikki Sixx made a pact with himself to not create any fun music again since he's done with Motley Crue. This isn't to say SIXX: AM isn't good. On the contrary, I like them quite a lot, but I can't just listen to their stuff over and over and I have to be in the right mood.

I think there is a mathematical equation for all of this:

Dark = Serious = Relevant?

Oh, and Megadeth, Smashing Pumpkins and about 1,000,000 other bands want their lyrical and/or video content back.

Seriously, though, I kid Mr. Sixx. That it. I kid Mr. Sixx. Moving on . . . I got a doormat to step on!

Ally:

This is a good subject to post. What 'dark" albums do you have to be 'in the mood' (shout out to Glenn Miller) to listen to: Off the top of my head, I'll list these as I only listen to them once (maybe twice) per year and then I'm good:

Metalicca: Black
GNR: The Spaghetti Incident
Jeff Labar: One for the Road
The Doors: Pick an album? Greatest Hits
Black Sabbath: Again, pick an album. Greatest Hits

I think if you looked up the opposite genre of SIXX A.M. music you'd find a pic of AC/DC. However, I do love them both!

Generic modern rock crap to me. Sad because I always have loved Nikki's songwriting. Boring, boring, boring.

I'll give Mr. Sixx credit. That's a rather monstrous tour after doing nearly 18 months w/ The Motley final tour/ cash grab.( wonder if these guys actually like each other?)! P.S. Him, save a corner of that mat for me to scrape my work boots off on....lol.

Those are some pretty big venues. Am I missing something, or can this double bill really fill arena's???

I mean, KFC YUM center in Louisville? I would have expected theaters or venues up to a few thousand or so, definitely nothing above 10,000. But best of luck to them, hope it works out.

That's exactly what I was thinking, steveroxx... Motley didn't even sell out the 11,000 seat MGM Arena of their next to last shows here, and now Sixx AM is playing the new 20,000 seat T Mobile Arena??? I think they are overreaching. My bet is a 3,000-5000 seat venue is closer to their actual draw ability.

Does anyone know what Nyquil:P.M. and Chicken Finger Punch Drunk draw when they do stand-alone shows normally? It sounds, based on what people are saying, that this is optimistic at best in terms of amount of shows and types of venues. If it was a festival show, sure; I could see that. But this seems odd to me, esp. when most of these areas have venues that are closer in size to what Ace is suggesting. Just curious, esp. since some on this site like these bands.

Hahaha!!!, HIM! NyQuil P.M. Best band rename yet on here!

I wonder if they're doing that thing Kari was talking about before in Comments about the Sebastian Bach tour recently where they have to give away tickets to fill the place once ticket sales stall.

Or do they actually sell out these places because there are people who actually like NyQuil P.M.?!

Good question, Metalboy! I mean, stacking the house full of freebie attendees doesn't make a whole lot of sense. So I am really curious about the planning on this tour.

[Sidebar: I still recall when VHIII was touring. A place I worked at was give the biggest stack of free GA tickets I had ever seen. They said, "just pass these out." In that case, though, I think they thought there would be demand when booking the venues and then . . . well, you know, the Cherone thing didn't exactly capture the hearts and minds of fans.]

Indeed, HIM... Eddie and Alex must have been drunk when they picked Cherone, haha!!
