Gene Simmons Sued For Sexual Assault
A radio personality is suing Gene Simmons for allegedly groping her and making sexual advances. Simmons denies this and says he will prove his innocence.
In the past, Simmons very proudly bragged about his "thousands" of sexual conquests. Interestingly, the suit stems from an alleged incident that happened on November 1 of this year... so not long ago.
The unnamed broadcaster was interviewing Simmons at the opening of his Rock and Brews restaurant in Highland, California. She says Simmons allegedly grabbed her hand and forcefully placed it on his knee. She jerked her hand away and says Simmons immediately grabbed for it again and then "struck" her in the throat. She also says he grabbed her butt while posing for a photo.
Remember, innocent until proven guilty. I guess we'll see how this plays out. You can read the whole story in the San Bernardino Sun.

Serious charges indeed. In what seemed to be a clearly business/promotional environment, I would think they were never isolated from others at the meeting. Being struck in the throat would probably be witnessed by many at the event. After all, isn’t Gene doing this to be the center of attention at his own venue?
The ubiquitous “ass grab” during a photo op seems like it was industry protocol for creeps with power. My oh my how times are changing...rapidly!
The “where there is smoke there is fire” adage can certainly be true. Unfortunately some accused will be innocent and some accusers will be guilty. My heart hurts for people who deceit our system for their own benefit because it’s an insult and further degradation of victims of which there are MANY.
I am Switzerland on this one. Morals, ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SELF and ethics are simple when one actually thinks of them. THINK
Fire up the lawyers!!! There’s lots of litigation in our nations future.
“For the love of money...you would lie to your mother.” Rock n Roll has the answer!! I believe, I truly believe!!!!

Glad to see you boyz are back on the scene as we haven’t heard from you in awhile, particularly Eddie Long Hair! Thanks for the article, my good sir!
If it takes a man time to find his moral compass when in the company of a woman, then he surely needs to rethink how he approaches interpersonal relationships. And this is as much a generational shift as it is a necessary house cleaning. I have no idea if Gene was just being Gene. But I do know that people need to think twice before they assume what they want is what another person deserves, no less that they can assume that it won't come back to bite them.
Trust me, I get it. Context matters. Situations and people differ. Time can shade both. Allegations are not guilt, even if the court of public opinion--one of the worst juries in the world--oftentimes acts as if it is.
Quid pro quo and hostile environment are fairly well codified. Thing is, the first is much clearer cut and the second is a perceptual matter that is a bit trickier to grasp. That there are shades of the 90s and issues of PC in this recent upheaval is not surprising to me. That there is more traction and more sanction attached to this more recent go-around is though.
For those who think this is all a bit too much, too soon, it might help to read (and reread) people like Katie Roiphe and Camille Paglia. There are some hard fought truths in their work. Then again, those who wish to bury their heads in the sand and act like things don't/won't change (boys will be boys, and a KISS is just a kiss) might want to snuggle up with Arthur Schopenhauer.
Metal has been always been a blend of the situationally perverse and the contextual permissible, of objectification and gratification. We, as fans, should be even more aware of how precarious the line is between fantasy and reality. As such, I view all of these recent developments with an open eye . . .and a jaundiced one too.
One thing though: "weak minded women" doesn't really do your comments any justice. When people in positions of power abuse that power, issues of strong or weak shouldn't really factor into the equation. At worst, that sort of language only perpetuates the problem.
Kelly Ripa "sexually harasses" David Lee Roth on Live TV and here's the proof:
