2018 Resolutions?
It's that time again... to be planning our your resolutions for the new year. Each year, we usually discuss our music related resolutions for the coming months ahead. So what do you have on tap? Are you planning to go to more shows? Vowing to see a favorite band that's been on your list since 1987? Promising to spend less money on music?
Personally, I'm vowing to see more shed shows this summer. Last year there just wasn't much that interested me... and before I knew it, my summer was over. It never really "feels" like summer to me unless I see several outdoor shows, so I want to make sure and do that this coming new year. The winter has just begun and it's already really getting me down... so I'm trying to look forward to spring and summer as much as possible.
So - let's have it! Give me all your best music-related resolutions!

See my comments on Allyson’s current post which happens to be about Michaels, to learn why I would make such a proclamation!
My New Year’s resolution, will be the usual health kick where I’ll lose about 20 to 30 pounds only to gain it all back by this same time next year where I’ll do it all over again ...
But sometime this year, I have another resolution, this one coming in two parts, which should happen I’m hoping by this Summer ...
Part 1: I want to buy a black Jackson Flying V (or whatever Jackson calls their distinct dual pronged design) with gold humbuckers, etc., I’ve had my eye on at the Sam Ash up the street from where I live for awhile now.
Part 2: I will finally work out, write and record as many of the song ideas I’ve created over the last 40 years!
In the immortal words of David Coverdale when he opens his shows, “Are you ready?”
Have a Rockin’ New Year!
All my best to all of you as we head towards 2018!
I was at a Holiday party the other night and the host asked her guests whether we had any new years resolutions. I replied, "I plan to continue what I continue to do." Family and friends looked puzzled. Trust me, I'm used to "that' look. So I explained a couple of things. First, This NYE, it will be 20 years since my last cigarette (Go Lungs! and bank account). So I know I can keep a resolution if I commit to it.
Secondly, I rhetorically asked them about my current resolution, by saying, "What else am I supposed to do? Something different? What I am going to do, wake up on January 1st and do what? Rape? Pillage? Extort? Cheat? Quit therapy? Stop loving my loved ones? Stop being a dad? Stop listening to Music? Stop going to shows? etc...
And, just when they started to realize what I was trying to explain, I had to end with an amusing gaffe: And What? Stop watching Internet porn?
