Rare Bon Jovi Bootleg!

Thanks to YouTube, we've got a way to relive some of the best concerts of the 80s. There were no cellphones back then, so no video clips or a million photos of every single show. People actually enjoyed the shows then: they paid attention to the stage and walked away with some great memories. Now it seems people are more interested in looking at their phones than the act they paid big money to see! But I digress. YouTube is a magical website and today I stumbled on a rare Bon Jovi bootleg. It's making the rounds online right now. The show is from Oklahoma City on April 11th, 1989. This was the New Jersey: The Brotherhood Tour. Enjoy!

Weird but I liked Alec John Such on bass. Don't know why. Never liked that they disposed of him just because he couldn't play his instrument (that was my impression anyway).Technicalities pfft! Thanks for link. Will sift through video tonight!

Great video! Similar to Brian, it brings back great memories. I saw them twice on that tour - once in Toronto and once in Niagara Falls, NY - and the shows were fantastic.

Great video! They were awesome in their prime which was back around that time. Definitely were in my top 5 bands back then. But I have a hard time with this band now. It was always Jon and Ritchie. Without Ritchie, for me, there is no Bon Jovi. I would not go see them now on a free ticket. Very happy I saw them with Ritchie a half dozen times or so.

Alec wasn't as instrumental in my opinion (though I love the bass riffs in Prayer). But they should make Hugh a "full time" band member. He has been playing with them since the early 90's! Nice guy, met him at Raiding the Rock vault in Vegas.

Can't believe they still sell out stadiums!!!

Steverox, I agree. Too bad the brotherhood didn't survive money, time, and ego.

Saw this tour in August 1989... I was there to see Skid Row. Bon Jovi put on a great show, what a catalogue of hits.

@Steve. Pretty sure they did make Hugh a full fledged member a while back. And rightly so. Saw them with Keel back in 86-87 on the Slippery tour. And yeah, they were a well oiled machine back then.

Sebastian Bach took on Ted Nugent in his book. Best segment.

Spoiler alert: Ted says nigger repeatedly. Ted is a racist. Bas told the producers. Ted still says that he's the least racist person ever to appear on VH1

I stand corrected on my previous comment. if you believe Wikipedia, then Hugh has been a full member since 2016 ... after first joining them in 1994. I missed that!

So it looks like he passed his 22 year audition .....

can you tell that story twice

@Fletch: Computer glitch ... obviously didn't mean to post twice previously.

Are you aware of a way to delete posts here, because I looked for a while with no luck and gave up!

Finally! Rare bootlegs of Bon Jovi. I am hoping for grainy footage of some hack band singing about hot dogs next.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtKeJrJSDXE

Oh wait. That exists. Sorry.

[Note: "hack" is meant ironically and also meant to convey that the hot dog band is a better band deserving of more coverage, even if they stand on a lesser platform than the Bongiovi band does.]

Steverox: I was just poking a little harmless fun.

Got it, no problem. Still, a delete button would be good!
