Kelly Hansen, Jeff Pilson Perform 'Feels Like The First Time'

Kelly Hansen and Jeff Pilson of Foreigner performed an acoustic version of "Feels Like The First Time" while on Nights With Alice Cooper. This is good stuff.

Having seen Foreigner many times (I'm old!!) I have to say, I am Lou all the way, but for me, I think with Kelly, he is just tearing it up in this band, then add in Jeff (Who has a fantastic voice and is a dam great musician) and Mick Jones looks like a flippin genius!! In this rare instance, I don't see any down side as far as new members go and to actually do justice to the music it almost sounds fresh and new.
(Side story ahead..) I had to see Journey a few years back (I was really there to see Cheap Trick....) I was almost 1000% sure there was no effin way to replace Steve Perry and do any justice to the material, man I was so wrong on every point, Arnel (SP) tore it up and with eyes closed took me back to the late 70's early 80's as you would of thought you were hearing Steve sing those songs, very impressive.

No need to further jab at the band that now is Foreigner. You like it? Swell. You don't? Fine too.

I do, however, think that an acoustic version of one of their classics comports with my feelings about this band these days, no less one that doesn't feature Mick Jones. Seems about right.

But I hear you, Darktown. There is no messing with memories (eyes closed or wide open) when it comes to fans and their music. Glad you shared and glad you enjoyed that show.

Thanks HIM, I'm so fortunate to have the love of music from an early age and is pretty mind blowing , thinking back to how many bands I've seen since 1977 and I am sure there are a few I've forgotten about, haha. It was a great time to be brought up in that era for music I think.

No ED GAGLIARDI = No Foreigner!

(just kidding...) I think they're doing wonders keping a band alive. Kelly is a great vocalist & Pilson is the epitome of a "can do anything" Swiss army knife musician.. Long live Foreigner, whoever is still in the band...

Spykeallday, how far will you push this point? I don't mean that as a jab or a provocation. As you might know, I actually tend to both your positions (and I do apologize for lumping you both together) regarding Foreigner.

But where is your bright-line? For either of you, what constitutes the core essence of a band? When is that gone? Just curious.
