Did Vinnie Vincent Save KISS?

Our favorite hermit, Vinnie Vincent, is about to come out of the shadows. He's appearing at the Atlanta KISS expo on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Now he's in a promo video for the event - watch it below. I'm really jealous of the people who land tickets for this. The stories would be amazing.

Yes. He did, He breathed new life into them. And most of the great songs on Lick It Up were co-penned by him (or fully, who knows).

He was a talent. Shame he didn't last long in that band.

Yes he saved Kiss. His songwriting brought them into the realm of 80s Metal.

Remember, the album they did before Vinnie was "Music Feom The Elder".

I've been a huge Vinnie Vincent fan since I discovered the Vinnie Vincent Invasion in college. I love his work with both KISS and VVI. And I'm very tempted to go to Atlanta for this Expo...but I have my doubts that Vinnie will actually show up. He has a long history of disappointing his fans, failing to deliver products that were paid for and from what I am told, even refusing refunds.

That said, I hope he does show up, and I hope he gets back into the studio. I would love to hear some new material from Vinnie Vincent. He is one of my favorite guitarists.

VV also wrote songs on Revenge for KISS.

Vinnie's songwriting absolutely saved KISS, but his guitar style did not work with them in a live setting. KISS's groove is all about simplicity, and Vinnie's long, wanking guitar solos didn't go with that groove. But again, without his songs, KISS would have been over way sooner.

Hahaha!!!, Bob! $immons and Stanley got rid of him because they couldn’t stand being shown up by him and the fact that he blew them off the stage!

And, yes, he did save their as*es, too! “Lick It Up”!

For a dose of unreality, check out “Speedball Jam”, the infamously gargantuan 72 minute magnum opus of a guitar solo Vincent recorded live in the studio over 20 years ago or so. Search it out as it will leave your jaw on the floor!

No. Vinnie didn't save KISS, KISS saved Vinnie. They had many different guitarists actually play on Creatures Of The Night, Rick Derringer, Robben Ford, etc. & were auditioning a lot of the L.A. gunslingers, Randy Piper from W.A.S.P. & Robbin Crosby from Ratt, Mike Fisher from Heart, etc. Vinnie got the gig because he was writing with G&P, and they ran out of time to find a replacement before the tour started. They regretted taking Vinnie from Day One. He shot himself in the foot. Repeatedly.
