KISS Releases Farewell Tour Promo Video

The tour dates are out - who is going to this one? Coming closest to me in March. We'll see. I am sure the band will add more dates. Gene Simmons never ignores the chance to make a dollar.

Got to hand it to them... playing the "big" arenas when their last USA tour was a lot of fairs, smaller arenas, etc... It's a weird thing to think about whether to go or not. I paid $20 on the last tour and what is going to change for this one ? Longer sets ? More pyros ? Maybe some surprise guests ? I dunno, but knowing Kiss it will be a premium price this time around.

Funny how you look up Kiss attendance and they always seem to be averaging 80% capacity no matter the venue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_to_Rock_Tour

That's longevity.

Kiss has a long catalog of songs and many of those are deep cuts that I found to be very solid. I know they're mostly about the visual but they do have some solid material. I've seen em twice, once without makeup on the revenge tour, and one with the originals on their reunion tour in 92-93. I'm sure I will go see them when they come to Louisville in March, and my wife who's ten yrs younger than me, will get her first ever chance to see them. She had never seen the Crue, Sabbath, GNR, or even Rob Zombie before I came along and ruined her. Lol. I'm sure she will love this just as much as she did the others and I hope they dig deep in their catalog, for this one!

I have seen KISS 15 to 20 times since 1981.

Even putting aside the fact that I much prefer the original member version of this band, I can't see this tour being significantly different than the last 15 tours. I think the show will be basically the same show, with basically the same songs, with the same lame Paul Stanley intros lol. I mean who are we kidding? And I say that with much love.

It is just not grabbing me. Not sure what it would take. Ace and Peter would do it, for sure. But other than that, I don't feel I'd be missing much if I passed on this.

If I was a paranoid person, I'd swear that Rita hacked into my cell phone and read my messages. Yesterday, my Buddy texted me about whether I wanted to see this tour, I declined, replying back, almost word for word, what Rita posted above.

I got my tickets today for Kansas City. I had read somewhere that they are planning on a longer set list and some songs they don't typically play. I have seen them between 20 and 30 times, and it's been worth it every time. When I was five years old, my older sister let me steal her Destroyer record, and I played it on my crappy white plastic suitcase record player over and over. It'll be worth it to see them one last time.
Hope you all have an awesome Halloween.

I guess 'deep cuts done now' is as close as you will get to 'deep cuts done right.' So who is the fool if you buy the tickets? No one, really. And you might get to see Ace up there for an acoustic rendition of something. That's something, right?

In this case, I hope it truly is farewell. And for those who go (I might), I hope you have a good time.

As much crap as I've given KISS in the past I will try to go and see this. I dont hate the band I just hate what they've become since their farewe... ummm I mean the tour they did around 2000. I've never seen Kiss and like a good amount of their songs so I'd still like to see it. Hoping for a 2nd leg cuz its not coming near me, but maybe I'll try and go for the Vegas show. Just please, dont play any songs that came out after Revenge, which in my opinion was the last time they were great musically.
