Iron Maiden Announces Tour Dates

The Iron Maiden tour announcement caused waves on social media the other day. Iron Maiden trended on Twitter for hours and when I first saw that I was worried the band broke up or worse. Turns out, Maiden will hit the road for a slew of dates next summer as part of the Legacy of the Beast tour. I've never seen Maiden live and it looks like I won't be seeing them next summer either. I already have plans for the night they are coming through Cincinnati. Are you going to this tour?

Not interested whatsoever. Imo, one of the most overrated "metal"(using term very loosely here) acts to ever grace the stage. Again, just my opinion.

This made my day, my week, my month, and half of next year. I have been on a Maiden kick after discovering this just a few days ago:

I'm gonna try and make a show, although I'm a bit hesitant. Closest show is like 6 hours away and I wasnt very impressed when I saw The Book Of Souls tour. With all due respect to Maiden, their newer material isn't my cup of tea and dosent really translate live. I get that musicians want to keep creating new music and for the most part, I love new releases from bands, but if I were to go see a Maiden show it would almost have to be the classic hits or deep cuts. Hopefully this tour does that.

Then you won't be disappointed Dj! Saw this tour in June in Copenhagen and it was great. Even pulled out a couple of tracks from the Blaze era that Bruce made his own. Four songs from Piece of Mind too which in my opinion is their finest hour.

I'm coming back I will return
And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn
I have the fire I have the force
I have the power to make my evil take it's course

I'll be at the Barclays show in BK. One of the best live bands out there. I would have preferred a better opener. Steve's kids band already opened a show I saw at MSG a few years back. We got Alice Cooper and Ghost over the last few tours. Talk about a big swing!

Brace yourselves, Boyz! I’m actually gonna go see ‘em at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida!

Also, talk about POINT BLANK, my buddy lives just a five minute walk from the place so I can crash there and we’ll head on over just before show time!

Why the change of heart, Metalboy!? Just curious.

And, yes, the legacy tour is the classic stuff. They alternate what they cover these days: one tour of mostly newer material; one tour of mostly the hits. I will hand it to them: they give the fans who love the new stuff what they want and they give the fans of the classics the same. They don't hide that fact. So you know what you are getting going in. And they never skimp on the theatrics and stage set-up. And, nowadays, you get Gers doing his 'I'm Merkel's emaciated sister on crank' shtick. So it is a win regardless!

The two closest shows to me are in indoor Enormo-Domes, which don't often offer up the best sound (at least for these ears). I always prefer to see Maiden in an outdoor, amphitheater, setting. Who know though? Been awhile since I saw them. Enjoyed every show.

I realize I need to see them live to make a true judgment, HIM!

Though I still have a hard time listening to Metallica, they proved me wrong live, regardless of the perpetually annoying Lard Ostrich!

I figure the same could be true for Iron Maiden and the equally annoying BASS PLAYER resident “genius”, wait, let me look it up ... the immortal, Steve Percy Harris!

Despite his hamfisted overplaying and outsized ego disproportionate to the quantity of his songs which might actually be considered “good”, I figure it might be worth a laugh, especially when you consider it’s still the classic line-up out there making clowns of themselves.

And, nothing will make me happier should I be proven wrong. After all, I’m always up for being scorched by needlessly overlong dual guitar solos!
