Tempt: A New Band To Watch

Here's an interesting tidbit from my inbox. Tempt is a new band coming up and they've caught the eye of our beloved Def Leppard. That's good enough for me but check them out below. They are incredible.

NYC based rockers Tempt are releasing their first official video and they are getting an extra boost from rock legends Def Leppard who shouted out their video cover on their social media as an “Awesome Job”! The magnanimous Leps’ and their fans are embracing young Tempt’s personality, passion and perseverance, breathing much needed life into every rocker’s heart. Social media is over 500,000 views and climbing! The comments shared on Def Leppard’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts in response to their praise of the young band prove that Rock and Roll is alive and well.

“The Hysteria album is my Sgt. Peppers, the songwriting, the playing , the arrangements and the production are just amazing”, said guitarist Harrison Marcello. “My iTunes counter has me at 10,000 listens and I’m still learning from it.”  “Ringo Starr recently lamented the fact that young bands were not being helped out by more established artists anymore, added singer Zach Allen “but here are the Def Leppard guys extending a helping hand to us and it means so much especially when we are right now releasing our video for “Under My Skin.”

The video for “Under My Skin” was shot on location throughout New York City. It features the band performing in a classic Chrysler 300 as they travel through their hometown ending in Times Square. “The response we got from people was nuts, exclaimed drummer, Nick Burrows. “Everywhere we went on the shoot people were just digging the music and had huge smiles on their faces. We all had a great time.”

The "Under My Skin" video will premiere this Friday, March 2nd 2018. Here's the cover of "Women" that gained the attention of Def Lep.

Below is the link to their original tune just released. Fun video. First half reminds me of Priests Breaking The Law video. If the boys read this site I’d like to know if they’ve ever seen that iconic early video directed by I believe Julian Temple. 2nd half of video (minus bass player. Reliable one is tough to find lol) incorporates some of their attractive friends rocking in Times Square.

Catchy tune. What glam band is this like? Can’t pinpoint. Firehouse, Trixter? All the best luck Tempt!

Good call, Badland and Allyson.

Kixchix, to my mind your video (esp. at the :58-1:02 section) sounds like "Breaking All the Rules" by Ozzy. But perhaps that is just me.

Enjoyed "Under My Skin" and their Lep cover (what happened to that bass player? He also appears prominently on their website). Their Whitesnake cover? Not so much.

Kudos to bands like this and Greta Van Fleet for flying the old school flag. That said, I do have some questions/nagging concerns. But I will defer on those for now. Best just to enjoy the music.

Thanks for clarifying, Kixchix. And appreciate the lead on the song/video as well.

What th...??? I told you about these guys when “Runaway”, their first album came out in 2016!

Get that album if you haven’t listened to it yet ... ALL Killer, NO Filler! ...

And, Badland, thanks for the tip about “Women” in Comments!

p.s. I have been trying to catch TEMPT whenever I’m in NYC but keep missing them. If you happen to be in town the two dates they are playing in May, check ‘em out! Need proof? There’s lots of live performances on YouTube! Though not quite as phenomenal as the dude from Greta Van Fleet, Tempt’s lead vocalist is still plenty killer as demonstrated on “Women”. \m/

Viva, TEMPT!!!

And may The Metal Gods bless Def Leppard for showing a lot of class (the only time they didn’t in their illustrious career was when they did those horrible re-records) and SUPPORTING Tempt for they’re “Women” homage rather than taking issue with it as SO many others would!
