Hear The New Motley Crue Song!
Friday, February 22, 2019 at 07:13AM
Motley Crue has a new song for The Dirt soundtrack. It's called "The Dirt (Est. 1981)." The song is on iTunes and Spotify now. The entire soundtrack comes out the same day as the movie, March 22. What do you think?

Already listened to this like 10 times by 7 A.M. and counting!
Guess SIXX needed some time off to get off his a*s and finally write something worthy of his band’s name!
If it were any more catchy it would be a zipper on one of their crazy stage costumes from ‘83!
I’m gonna guess Bob Rock made all the difference producing.
Can’t wait to see the movie and listen to the soundtrack which is an awesome retrospective spanning their career (including the new songs) in just 18 tracks!
This song being the least exciting of the aforementioned lead singles - I imagine it will work well in the context of closing credits for their movie - still looking forward to hearing the rest of these new tunes.
PS - Mick Mars rules.

All hail Mötlëy Crüe as this is THE BEST Hair Metal track of 2019 thus far with L.A. Guns and Tesla both running a distant second and third place respectively.
At this rate, “The Best Albums of 2019” list is already outpacing last year by far!
I tried getting in a blurb about this to Allyson. But she beat me to it! She must know someone at BBG! I kid. So here is the condensed "two cents" version of what was going to be my "too many cents" blurb. You are welcome, all that can't stand my tangled prose!

As Gogmagog noted, you can actually hear Vince's vocals dissipate into the digital ether. Echoing Badland, I do think that this is the best thing they have done since the Corabi-era (though the title track off SOLA was pretty decent), and could even catch a lil' whiff of that sound in Mars' lead-in guitars. So I agree with you, Gary and Mike. What sucks is that it now seems the involvement of Corabi is off on Mars' solo stuff due to scheduling conflicts. Really sucks.
I thought the MGK stuff (with respect, Jeff) was a bad rap version of "We Didn't Start the Fire." He sure can rhyme "lips" with ----, though. The guy is clearly on the level of Naughty by Nature, Public Enemy, and Eminem. I'm in pain right now. Why? My tongue pushed through my cheek and is now wiping the tears off my eyes!

This is serviceable in the way most of their music has been since Neil came back to the band. And that might be good enough for most. But, like the soundtrack/greatest hits package that Fletch alluded to, they have to mine their past. And, yes, they are doing a cover of Madonna. Edgy, ain't it? So we are going to get these four new songs. And does anyone, even those who really liked this song (and that is fine by me), really think it will live up to the hype that Sixx put down before this song was released? Classic sound? Brutal? Come on, we know that ain't true, even if we bought the bridge and the ice from Lt. Hot Topic.
And, Metalboy!, really?!?! Better sounding than Corabi. What are you huffing? Even if you don't like that album (and many don't), and even if you don't like it because it didn't sell well or because people came to respect it later in life (both of which seem to be odd reasons), you can't say that Corabi (then) and Neil (now) are anywhere in the same league. I was gonna add Corabi (now) to the list. You get my point. I get being enthusiastic. But come on.
See what I did here, Bkallday? I responded with a nod to others, even when I didn't agree. I also backed up my opinions. Just trying to show good form. Not for you to follow, mind you. I mean, because of you, I am never going to listen to new LA Guns stuff again. Those hacks. And really, when you compare their new stuff to this song by the Crue, well . . . emoji and sideways keyboard wink.
And I am sorta' with you on the other issue, Shawn. Neil was never a great live singer. Sure, better than Pearcy. But I really prefer how he sounded when it wasn't so obvious they had to do so many tricks. Heck, he even sounds natural on SOLA back in '08 . . . which is a lifetime in terms of wear and tear. But you raise--or perhaps this is just what struck me--an interesting point. Ozzy's voice has been shot, live, for years. He once had a fairly good live vocal performance. Not a singer really; a vocalist. And some of his more recent solo albums have sounded overly-produced and tinny to me (not going to mention the songs themselves). That is why I found Sab's 13 to be so surprisingly good. You know they were working on his vocals in the studio and on the computers. But it didn't really sound (that much) like they were. It was like good plastic surgery . . . if you can tell, it ain't!
That's all i said. Ive got no problems with opinions whatsoever, i was merely making a point that you two would be along to downplay it, which you definitely did. Thanks for making my prediction come true!
And since Corabi is so ungodly talented, why is he still running around like Ripper Owens, trying to set a record for most projects involved with? Corabi is doing exactly what he should be doing, looking homeless and begging for work. Ever compare sales for that record and all their others? Or maybe Corabi is just being unfairly treated, due to politics, race, creed, religion, hair color, or sex? And im guessing the cd didnt sell worth a crap, due to the environment or global warming? Or was it the #metoo movement? lmao This dude acting like the self titled is their best cd. Just classic. People are always more than welcome to give their opinions, but when others comment on those awkward opinions, you cant act shocked if they dont agree.
Never said Corabi was the greatest, or even that the self-titled album was the best Crue album. I did, however, make several observations related to what others posted and what I thought about those posts. And I have done that before, esp. when I reference what people like Mars and Lee think about that album. But that is just me being me.
That said, you can disagree with another person and not be downplaying their right to that opinion, yes? So, cheers Bkallday! Another good post for me to consider. Hope my response was in keeping with what you were expecting.
